Famous Police Dog

Hi, everyone! FPD here. You know we like to have fun on AST. So I'm doing my first post on something I think is really fun. One of my favorite rap groups, Onyx.

For you comedy nerds, you may remember an episode of the Jimmy Pardo Podcast where they talked about bands named Onyx (or Onyxx, Onyxxx, ect. ect.). They got alot of information wrong but I'm here to set it straight.

Onyx is a hardcore rap band from Queens. In the 90's they had a popular song called "Slam!". It was played in every NBA Arena along with "Jump Around" and "Whoomp, There It Is".

Unfortunately, I can't provide the video thanks to the Universal Music Group. But imagine you are seeing some of the maddest rappers saying SLAM! and acting cool and tough. It was awesome.

They disappeared sometime after that, but came back with "Slam Harder". It wasn't as good because it sampled a song from a stupid old white dude show.
