Thread: Andrew Koenig memorial

    Re: Andrew Koenig memorial

I feel like each time I listen to NNF, I find a new great hilarious moment with Andrew. Unfortunately, I also keep hearing new things that serve as in insight into his depression and feelings about his past/Growing Pains.

I miss NNF SO much, but I also have a lot of anxiety about the next episode, whenever it comes. I feel like, as well as they covered Andrew in the memorial episode, there will be a melancholic element that will be hard to avoid.

Christ, I never knew the guy, and I'm heartbroken. I can't imagine what his family has to endure. It just goes to show that you never know what someone has going on inside their head.
Although we might read into, or second-guess anything we see and hear Andrew do on NNF, we also need to remember that was only one (or two) hours of each week. Most of use weren't privy to the other 166 hours of Andrew's week, but like JP said in the memorial episode, NNF was something Andrew liked and was excited to do. We should always remember that when we re-listen, and take Andrew's actions at face-value.

Howard Stern had some very positive things to say about the Koenigs on his show yesterday.

If anyone has a link to the audio of Stern talking about it, please link it, since I missed it.

I miss Andrew. And thank you Jimmy for memorializing him each week. Your sign off is perfectly appropriate.

I'm watching all the 21 Jump Street episodes on Netflix Streaming. Well, most of them anyway. Some are real stinkers.

Andrew is in Season 2 on an episode called Champagne High.

    just thought i'd share.

Hey guys- I'm walking in the Out Of Darkness Suicide Prevention Walkathon this September, and I named my team "AK47 and BB - Gone But Not Forgotten." (BB was a co-worker who we lost the same week as Andrew.) If anyone wants to honor Andrew's memory by making a donation to the team, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link: http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm...6&teamID=17353

also, if anyone's in the Western Mass area who wants to join the team by walking and/or raising donations, we'd love to have you!

    Thanks-

Thanks, Stephen, for starting the ball rolling with the first donation!

I've been honored to work a fundraiser for the Out of Darkness organization and can confirm they are legit and very lovely. Good on you lagitha!

Andrew was mentioned in the memorial at the Emmys, and that was the first time I remember getting really sad watching one of those.

Much thanks to all who have donated to the "AK47-Gone But Not Forgotten" team--we're more than half way to out goal! The NNF community is awesome.

If anyone still wants to donate to this benefit for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention fundraisers in memory of Andrew or any one else, there's still time. http://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm...ipantID=119801

I know I'm late to this, but I just wanted to express my condolences on here without bothering Jimmy on Facebook or anything. Andrew's laughs just helped the podcast so much, and I miss them. The Remembering Andrew podcast had me in tears. I never really imagined that would happen with somebody I never met, and really never knew.

I miss Andrew so much. I was listening to old episodes and missing how funny and charming and fun he was, so I listened to the memorial episode. And I miss him so much.

I'm just so glad I got into NNF while he was a part of it and had several seasons of weekly Andrew. Miss you.
