Sorry -- we're working on re-launching the site. It'll be back up soon.
No kidding, Bucky.
As much as I'd be tickled that this Joshua Bremer was one of those weird viral marketing interactive web games (see also: www.ogdenmarsh.com) and it'll be some weird twisty adventure down a cool internet rabbit hole--this seems like someone swooped in and stole a well-trafficked website address at renewal time.
Dick move.

Jesus, no -- he's redesigning the site. No one stole anything from anyone, we just shouldn't have changed the nameservers yet. Josh is a great guy.
I'm thinking of taking the Starlight Express Amtrak up to the fest this year. Has anyone taken that?
I'll just jump out from lurking long enough to comment on the Starlight. My old boss used to take it often from here to Seattle, and by all accounts he loved it. It's a nice, business-class train that (usually) runs on time and will drop you off in the middle of downtown, right next to two light rail lines and a few bus routes. You can get more information on public transit in the area at trimet.org, just look for the Union Station stop (specifically the Green and Yellow MAX lines).
My boyfriend and I had golden tickets to last year's festival... can't wait to snatch up another pair this year!

There should be an official Bridgetown Comedy Festival flavor donut at Voodoo.
Suggestions?

I'm pleased to announce that the official hotel for performers, guests and fans of the 2010 Bridgetown Comedy Festival is the beautiful, lushly-appointed Hotel Fifty, located on the banks of the Willamette, with quick access to all that downtown Portland has to offer!
Anyone coming into town to see the fest should book a room there ASAP using the code "BCF" to get a discounted rate. Despite whatever the Hotel Fifty site (or this thread) says, there are still rooms in the block. Just call:

I really want to go to this... if only to try Voodoo donuts.
On average, how much do out of towners end up spending to go to this? (airfare, lodging, rental) Sorry, I'm pretty sure I asked these same questions once upon a time.
Liezl, if it helps, the passes that get you into pretty much everything all weekend are only in the double digits. We haven't decided on the exact price yet, but I promise it'll be very reasonable.
To add on to the previously mentioned affordable passes, you can shop around for lodging obviously, and don't even think about renting a car. Unless you get a hotel in a suburb, you can take mass transit here really easily. Busses, trains, streetcars, and cabs if you REALLY need one will get you around.

Eating can be as cheap as you want as well. Everyone must go out and try some of Portland's Food Carts. Its becoming a big deal around here. Must places are $5 for enough food to feed you for two days.

Just look out for those fucking hipsters.

airfare - best case for me is usually on alaska or southwest, and that's generally in the $59-79 each way range. but that's from sf bay area, not sure what it costs from l.a. or elsewhere. lodging - i think i've generally paid around $80-100 a night for a room, but again that's something you can shop around on like brewcaster said. but also, you may be there less days.. rental - i've never rented a car there. easy to catch a cab, take a bus, or walk. all the venues are pretty much walking distance or a very short/cheap bus/cab ride from one to the other. plus drinking was much cheaper there than here!
