That would be GREAT. Like 'Real Time' minus the pre-1985 jokes and creepy references to how much the host hangs out at the Playboy mansion. If Showtime made this happen, I would send my cancellation of HBO out the same day.

I very much dislike Maher as a comedian & fast-forward through all the "comedy" of Real Time, but Maher is really good at getting his opinion in and disagreeing with (and mocking sometimes) his guests without dismissing them. I've never heard Jimmy in a real disagreement but based on his rants and the show with Paul Goebel, I'd think he might be more dismissive to the detriment of this imaginary show.
I could be wrong though and if I am I agree that it would be great to have a Real Time-like show that has actual comedy.

Yeah I got excited when he mentioned filming a pilot. Would anyone care to recap a recent Pop & Politics show? I'm interested to hear more about the format. The idea of a panel of good comics reacting to clips in the moment...I'd sure like to see that on TV.

I'm about 90 minutes in to the new one, and just thought I'd mention an odd thing that's happening while listening. I sometimes get interrupted and have to press pause in iTunes, and with today's episode, it seems to either skip back about 10-15 seconds or forward a few seconds each time I resume playback. Was this file saved any differently? I figured Matt might want to know this.

This is still happening to me. Maybe if the show gets a Mac Genius who scores better than a C on his aptitude, this will get remedied.

(Again, not a big deal, but it is a minor annoyance when I need to figure out if it jumped forward or backward and get it back to where I was after each pause.)

The fact that PFT was just on this makes me suspect even more that he is also the mystery guest on NNF. After all, you can never have enough Tompkins.

It's really become a problem for me. The time was incorrect, or something, because I would listen on my iPhone and the time would be up but it kept playing and then I'd pause it and start again and it would be a bunch of minutes earlier but it was impossible for me to know where I had been since the counter had already run out. Make sense?

Is this still happening with the PFT episode? I thought it may have been a server issue, because that last file was uploaded and the finalization of the file just froze. However, the most recent episode did not have this uploading problem. Nor was the server ever meant to hold giant 3 hour files. Let me know if 37 is doing it.

Other working theory is that i am now using Garageband 09 rather than the previous version, but what do I know? I got a C.

Try going into "get info" for the episode and unchecking "remember playback position" in the options tab. close that out then recheck it. I think that may fix it.

It seemed to work on my end. I will start doing that before i upload them now.

Absolutely! Fantastic episode. Kinda made it hard to keep it together at work, though, as I was listening the same day I had to put my beloved Kitty cat to sleep.
