It's nice to have Todd back as a special guest, but his barely coherent extended rant about Kyle Cease made me glad he's not on every week.

barely coherent? hm.. maybe it's an international difference but I completely understood everything he said and nodded along, wishing I had thought some of the same things

"Let me say this one thing, well, let me back up here - and this will tie in with what I've been saying, I promise - is that - and I know there's someone listening to this, going mer-mer-mer, "But I would have said it like this..." - well OK, no, listen, and I had this all worked out in my head to say but, and this is the thing that gets me, it's not even personal, it's not about him pers- well, let me give you an analogy, about the time when I had an appointment with a Mexican doctor - and I think this analogy is really simple, and I think you'll see it..."
It's the way Todd takes so long to say so little. Half a rambling hour to make a point that could be expressed in a minute or so. As I say, I'm glad he's not on every week. Once in a while is great - his recent CDR Radio appearance was joyful.
I love the way Todd speaks and forms an argument. MOAR
I think Barabbus is that "one guy" Todd is always talking about.
Crowbar swings and its back back back back back back back, GONE!
It's like listening to someone with a stammer and ADD trying to tell you the Meaning of Life. You know you've got to be politely patient and sit through it, but the journey can take a while - all those unneccesary detours.
We're not disagreeing with you, we're telling you that is exactly why we like it. It's endearing, and it may take a tiny bit longer to get there, but it is always worth the wait.

Phew.
You may get back to your lives now.
Spectacular! Except, the dialog gets obscured by the music a couple times. I think they should promise to fix that immediately, then never do it.
Hahahaha. That's great. Jimmy had some good lines.
Jimmy: "Are you crying?"
Sad voice: "No."
Jimmy: "It's not funny. It's not funny. What you're doing isn't funny."
----
Guy in audience: "So, if I put together a good seven minutes, can you recommend me?"
Jimmy: "If you put together a good seven minutes, I'll shit myself."
While I strongly disagree with your near-hateful summation(s) of Todd Glass, I have to say I was disappointed that his appearance was kind of wasted with all that Kyle Cease stuff.
Can we all just agree that Comedy Boot Camp sucks and move on?
I do think it is pretty fucking adorable that Todd was taking notes as he listened to the Cease CaEE episodes, though. No homo. (that's still a thing, right?).
Ah who am I kiddin', Todd can come back to CaEE every week to talk only about Kyle Cease and I'd listen.
Just caught the Todd episode. Loved to hear him back. Loved to hear such and uncompromising (if tangential a bit) position on the matter. Jimmy was journalistic in the interview/conversation and most of the other guys interviewed were guarded, understandably. Todd had a fire and genuine opinion which was just great to hear.
Cease seems to be a bullshitter, or at best a self deluder. Even if Cease is 100% genuine all he can give is the view of 1 or 2 comedians. That's it. His defense of the existence of Improv classes is a silly diversion. Who knows why exactly, but anybody will tell you that in terms of the amount of instruction you can give, improv is WAY different from stand-up.
In an improv class the instructor DOES teach you how to view a scene, structure it, tag it, work with energy, develop your characters and yaddayaddayadda. According to Cease himself he's not helping anybody with how to tell or structure a joke. So what else is there? Some mumbo jumbo about positivity and putting yourself in the mindframe of 'million dollar headliner' and all that trash? Not that "thinking positively" is a trash idea. but it's NOT the basis for telling people you can make them well rounded stand-ups ready to take on the world and send out tapes and open up for a (apparently) senile/desperate Louie Anderson.
Can't wait to hear the conclusion; including Jimmy's review of the boot-camp.
Also of the Cease shows, I LOVED the part where Kyle was describing, i think his low point or rock bottom or something and Jimmy chimed in with "...and that was somewhere between your half-hour and your hour special?". Made me laugh.
At that point got a bit loose and jimmy started missing/forgetting stuff, but it was also the most entertaining and the most sardonic Jimmy which was great to finally hear after all the leeway he'd given Cease earlier.
Drunk Jimmy was hilarious.
When Cease said he was headlining at 12 years old, I wanted to punch him in the dick.
