I've watched Dana's new special "Let Me Put My Thoughts in You" about 5 times this month and I've got to say it's one of the funniest specials I've seen. It's on a ton, but if you don't have Showtime it's definitely worth going out of your way to see.
Found it today from Mystery Men.
Heads up, Let Me Put My Thoughts In You is available for viewing on Netflix Instant.
Does anyone know if the CD is recorded from the same set as the DVD? Dana did an awesome visual bit at the end of the DVD that wouldn't work at all in audio. Was it edited out? Is the CD a different recording? I can't find any info on Dana's site.
I listened to the CD after having seen the DVD.
The CD and the DVD were both recorded at Second City in Chicago, according to the liner notes, they're recorded on the same day...but the CD is definitely a shorter version of what's on the DVD...
On the CD, there's no introduction, it just starts right in with Dana doing material. As the set goes on, there are some bits that just aren't included. And, on the CD, the set ends with Casanova's Adult World/(Cats in the Cradle).
The closer you describe on the DVD is NOT on the CD.
If you were only to get one of the two, I'd go with the DVD...definitely.

I'm curious: Is there anything on the CD that isn't on the DVD?

Dana Gould was on the panel on the most recent Real Time with Bill Maher. Podcast is now available in iTunes. Haven't listened to it yet, but the last time he was on the panel he was amazing, so it should be good.

Fifteen years ago in San Francisco Mr. Gould's jokes made me involuntarily drool with laughter. Then Simpsons. Mystery Men. Real Time. El-Pollo-Loco-No-Es-Bueno on Carolla. And, now, this?
Of the few comedic left nuts I actually might put in my mouth, Mr. Gould's swarthy hilarious teste is perhaps the most desirable.
A friend in San Diego still answers my phone calls as either Morrissey doing Clown-Fucker or Vincent Price at the bar. Thanks Dana.
Is this what some have called 'idolatry'? Tell me if I've gone too far . . .
