It's probably Spike Jonze... doesn't that make the most sense?

    I think it's the lady-character...the "female interest"...you know...

I seem to remember a quote from the actress last year where she said that, when asked if the show was going to proceed past the pilot, she was all like: "um, no. Uhhhh...uh-uh." <--- my interpretation of the quote I had read at the time.

This article seems to indicate Will Arnett will still be involved:

IFC on Tuesday unveiled new tagline "Always On. Slightly Off" along with a programming slate featuring such stars as David Cross, Will Arnett and the Kids in the Hall, as well as satire newspaper The Onion.

On his Facebook David mentioned being on Arnett's show in exchange

    From The Comics Comic:

Why did you need to reshoot the pilot? I heard there's a different character? "There's one actor who just wasn't available for when we were scheduled to go to production for the series. The character of Todd's office mate is being replaced, just because the actor who was in the pilot when it was being filmed, isn't available now. Will Arnett and Sharon Horgan are still in it. Spike Jonze will be reprising his role. What the comedy nerds have seen, they should know that we are not betraying David's original intended vision for a second."

Well that christ for that, the office mate was the worst thing in the pilot!

I normally dont making solely negative comments so to balance it out I should maybe say something positive

Hey man like the t shirt, that new?

I thought Russell Tovey was pretty good in it, myself. He was Russel T Davies' choice for the new Doctor Who, you know.

Cross did a short set at Popcorn Comedy in Notting Hill last week. It's mainly a short comedy film night (Onion clips, Serafinowicz etc). Cross showed us that amazing Adult Swim pilot he made with Jon Benjamin. That *really* should have been picked up.

I thought there might have been a separate post for the C4 comedy pilots but I couldn't find it. The Amazing Dermot had some really funny moments and some clunky ones as well. Most of the good stuff was between Rhys Darby and the guy who plays his assistant. I couldn't find anything that said if it was picked up or not, so I'm guessing it wasn't.

Is that the animated pilot they showed... is that available online anywhere?

Re: David Cross pens C4 pilot

No idea if it's online anywhere, but it was a live-action infomercial parody, with sequences that bled into each other a la Mr Show/Wonder Showzen. Cross explained that he and Benjamin wanted it to air between 2 and 6am without any credits (at least until the show caught on), and neither he or Benjamin appear on-screen at any point - all the more chance that people would stumble on it and think it was real (for a moment or two). AS said they didn't know how to market it, so it didn't get picked up.
