what a strange request
Dude, that girl was sitting in between my friend and I when that happened. She ran over to our little row right at the end of Graham's set, and then she scooted into my friend's seat while he was playing the Leonard Maltin game. I was so afraid when Doug asked who she was with that she was going to say us. I'm so glad that you called her out Doug, because she wouldn't shut up your whole set. Pretty sure she was all jacked up on "sweet tea". . . seriously, she had to have smoked a rock the size of a marble before she came in that theater.
Also, thank you Doug for playing the Leonard Maltin game at the show. That was really awesome.
thank you, man. you guys were such a good crowd, even a crackhead couldn't ruin the show. she cut in line at the merch table and invited me back to her place.
(i'm still thinking it over)
apologies....didn't mean it as an assignment, i think the way you just whip them up is ingenious. hope you have a fun bday weekend, not leaving too much at the tables, bars or in g-strings.

This may be a little weird and interview-y for this thread, but I’m honestly really curious: I noticed the comedy you sling on Doug Loves Movies and in Super High Me seems really different from the style of comedy you were doing on Best Week Ever, and your Comedy Central ½ hour. Did you consciously make a stylistic change, or was it just the change of mediums?
Anyway, Doug Loves Movies is a highlight of the week for me- thanks for introducing me to your cabal of funny friends, and the Leonard Maltin Game, which I would surely lose, but dearly love. Come to Boston!
i was in boston last april, and look forward to coming back again.
as for stylistic changes, the venues and formats change, and therefore adjustments must be made, but it's still always me telling jokes i wrote and ad libbing stuff, so i guess it's you that thinks the performance styles are really different.
(you're welcome)
I checked your upcoming shows list on myspace. Yeah, I went to all that effort.
I didn't see Florida on the list. Hope you make it Tampa again sometime. We can always use the laughs.
Thanks for doing what you do.
i'm tentatively scheduled to appear in tampa in december. i say tentative because that seems so far away.

When is your birthday?
Your "No Schwag Keep it Kind" shirt you wore in OKC was really badass. When you travel to "hostile" states that don't have medicinal marijuana do you wear shirts like that through the airports? Or do you wear something a little more socially acceptable until you get to the venue? It just seems like it would take some scrote to fly into the bible belt like that. Also, do you remember where you got it, I kinda want one.
airport security doesn't give a shit about weed. they are looking for terrorists. i'm usually not holding when i fly, but i've got plenty of items that have the word marijuana on them and i rarely get pulled aside for a secondary screening. i've even had TSA employees say things like, "love your movie, dude."
(travel tip - you can have lighters in your carry ons, but not in checked bags)
I've never posted in this thread - and I don't know why! - but I just found out that you're coming to Dr. Grins in Grand Rapids at the end of August... and now so am I! I'm officially putting the pressure on you to make it a magical night for me. (You won't have to try very hard. Really, all you have to do is show up.)
it will be magical for me. what you do with it is your business.
(DR GRINS is not affiliated with DR GIGGLES)
doug: Do you do many international gigs and if so are they mainly festivals? I ask because I'm looking into booking some people over here and I'm interested to find out is it just prohibitively expensive(even in smaller venues) to do international gigs, or is it just a matter of disinterest from the comics?
Hot tub foot?
i don't do many international gigs. in fact the only ones i've done have been connected to a tv show or a festival in some way. or a contest i won once. you can contact tj@gershla.com with any booking questions you might have.
(what am i getting myself into?)
It was a general question since the only people of you guys' ilk to come by here has been Reggie Watts and Patton, don't worry you won't be booked for an Irish treehouse casino gig any time soon.
(until that fuckin gaming licence gets cleared)
Hot tub foot?
You looked like you were enjoying yourself at the fight last night. I'll bet that was awesome.
