Thread: Guys With Feelings (GWF)

  1. #61

Re: GWF: Jeff Worried About His Son's Imaginary Friend "Garrett."

A bit behind on my GWF, but holy stuf Joe Wagner was a great guest. In the course of one show he went from Rookie of the Year-type greatness to Go-To-Guy levels of awesomeness. I barely know anything about the guy, but kudos Wag the Ner and come back soon. And bring that Jen Kirkman drama with you. Two lapsed (sorta) Catholics sharing their feelings with Jeff & Nash as moderator? What could be better?

Great to get two hours of Daly!

Hopefully you can catch up with Price after that message he left. Seems like a while since he's been on.

This really old, so you may have seen it already, but if you like the lizard video you'll love this one:

Re: GWF: New episode: Andy Daly and Pink Hamster

I've not always been Hammy's biggest supporter, but I gotta say that it's off-putting when you guys call him at home unaware and then A) gently berate him and B) act bored (generally Jeff's domain) when he fails to deliver on par with your professional comedian guests. Having been an active member of AST during the Hammy era, I know full well that the guy doesn't always show restraint, but it's seems kinda cruel when you initiate the contact knowing full well how things will unfold.

Short version, if I call the show and proceed to suck, then shame on me. But if you call me and I suck, then shame on you.

Count this as my weekly email, Nash. 601!

Good episode with Josh. The "balls in a jar" stuff was great, both Jason's response to the actual thing and his own interpretation of it.

Re: GWF: New episode: Josh Faure-Brac

I'm trying to get caught up on GWF... it hasn't been easy seeing as how I accidentally washed my ipod in the washing machine about a month ago. I listen to the show at work because it's the only time I can actually listen to something.

Anyways... I just listened to the episode with Kirkman and Neil... congrats guys!
Also Jeff... Jelly donut in the fridge... it's the only way to go.

Here's requesting a new episode with Max's take on the Dodgers' playoff chances.

    Oh, almost forgot: Go Angels!

Nash shines in the latest "Back on Topps" on FoxSports.com (in the video section). I hope that character appears in more than just this one.

    New Episode - October 14, 2008

Marathon (FOR ALL ACCESS MEMBERS ONLY)

GWF records it's longest podcast ever--2 hours and 55 minutes--with special guests "The Simpsons""' Matt Selman and "The Sarah Silverman Program"'s Dan Sterling. Hear Selman and Sterling go one-on-one "Iconoclast"-style about their writers' rooms, sharing the same agent and the funny joke Selman pitched that day. Plus, Jeff throws a party for his mother-in-law, and Nash is back at standup.

Obviously, you guys or the show don't owe non-members like me anything. But I think to change your rules in the middle of the game is kinda weak. Plus I seriously doubt you'll grow your audience going this route.

    Got me to subscribe.

Re: GWF: October 14, 2008 - Matt Selman and Dan Sterling

    itslikeimsayin,

you've been a big supporter to us, so I don't want you to hear this email the wrong way, but if you would be so kind allow me to vent.

let me just say these are exactly the rules for the podcast, and therefore you are WAY OUT OF LINE with this post. if the old board was here you would see that i specifically posted that "some things will be all-access and some things won't."

it's also a reward for the really generous people who did give us money this year and helped pay for the costs we encrue doing the show.

because you are a good guy and have been there for us, if you don't have the 9.95 email me and i will give you a pass code. (i'm not belittling anyone who doesn' t have 9.95, i have been there and am sort of am there now) but to sit there
and say we're not going to build an audience and call us weak is a low blow.

it also angers me that you would write this because we have given you oodles, upon fucking oodles of free fucking material over three years. while you are able to sit back like a fat lion (are you fat? i don't know if you are. this is just a metaphor.) and
pick and choose and maybe listen to our show or maybe not. but then complain when we decide to reward some of the fans who were nice enough to contribute.

(how bad does hammy want to respond to this right now, and can't because he canceled his membership?)

i want you to film yourself doing 35 pushups and put it on youtube as an apology for making me feel bad. i will except nothing less. 35 is a tough number. I can do about 20, so you can take breaks in between. but if you could hit a total of 35.

watch jeff on the price is right on october 24th.

    thanks,
    nash

Re: GWF: October 14, 2008 - Matt Selman and Dan Sterling

The Sterling/Selman megasode was the breeziest 3 hours of podcasting I've come across yet. Makes up for the recent paucity of episodes (Selman's words, not mine). More please.

I'm going to do 35 pushups now (in sets of 15, 10, and 15, and the last set will probably be half-assed), and then I'll set my Tivo for Jeff's showcase showdown.

Popinjay-Z fun fact! I've had two relatives appear as contestants on "The Price Is Right." Fun fact!

Re: GWF: October 14, 2008 - Matt Selman and Dan Sterling

I agree with Nash on this one. I also don't think it's changing the rules. At least, it's not fair to assume there are rules about how much you should get for free. And honestly, as someone who did pay, I kind of appreciate getting something for my money.

Either way, great episode. I could listen to stories about Max's eerie intelligence all day long.

Re: GWF: October 14, 2008 - Matt Selman and Dan Sterling

I need to clarify. I wasn't a contestant on The Price is Right. I went there for work reasons and the losers stuck me in the second row for a taping. I believe I am on camera a bunch looking totally like I don't want to be there, sandwiched amongst ancient people in home made t-shirts.

At one point I pass out papa john's pizza to people. So if THAT is something you'd care to see, by all means.
