Thread: From the IMDB Message Board for the movie "Comedian"

Re: From the IMDB Message Board for the movie "Comedian"

I hate piling on this poor kid, because God knows I wrote bad movie treatments when I was a teenager, but have you read his review of ROCKY?

The inspiration behind this film is an interesting one. In 1975, there was a boxing match world the World Heavyweight Championship between Muhammad Ali (champion) and New Jersey club fighter Chuck Wepner (challenger). Nobody gave Wepner a chance; everyone thought Ali would knock him in less than 3 rounds. However, Wepner fought hard and went through 14 hard rounds with Ali, until being knocked out in the 15th and final round. Wepner even managed to knock down Ali in 9th round. Now you're probably asking yourselves? What does this have to do with Rocky?
No I'm not asking myself that, because that sounds like the exact plot of "Rocky." Also, you just told me this was the inspiration for the film "Rocky."

Now you're probably asking yourself, what does the real life Oskar Schindler have to do with Schindler's List?

I've gotten pretty good at the line "Got anymore insults?," because it's such a common phrase in my daily life. I say it pretty much all the time, at least a few times daily. It just makes so much SENSE.

I wrote a movie treatment about this guy.

There is a guy, named Jodorowsky Galifianakis, after my favorite filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and my favorite comedian, Zach Galifianakis, who saw Comedian and says to his parents, "I want to make a film about comedy." His dad says, "You can do anything if you et your mind to it." So Jodorowsky writes a treatment on a movie about a comedian, posts it to IMDB, and gets a lot of criticism. Then he gets dejected and someone posts his treatment on AST and he immediately gets a lot of criticism again. So Jixby Phillips, a pretty young woman, comforts him and tells him about her first time in the comedy-movie business. Jodorowsky pitches his movie to an executive at HBO, who thinks his movie sucks. Then Jodorowsky comes back with something, and the executive loves it. The executive replies, "got any more insults?" So he gives him cash to direct a film, because this is how directors get money, and he spends the money on blow and is arrested. Montage of headlines about the recession and Obama's inauguration. Jodorowsky's wife says, "Why?! Why?! Why?!" and they hug and then he gets out of jail and makes his movie. After the movie premieres, Jerry Seinfeld comes up to Jodorowsky and says, "I'm your favorite comedian. Your movie is very good. You will go down as a film legend!" Seinfeld embraces Jodorowsky in slow motion and then he cries. The End......

    ....or is it?
