I don't really think I need to point this out ,but it is bizzarre that cease is talking about how we need to be our true selves and be honest, yet he is one of the most over the top gay guys I have ever seen do standup. Dane cook is over the top but doesn't appear to be gay. I wouldn't mention this, it's just that kyle goes out of his way in his act to mention that he is straight and act like he is just a regular frat guy. Again, nothing wrong with being gay, it's just that it is bizarre when someone tries so hard to hide what everyone can plainly see. Maybe cease will eventually become honest and make a decent comedy act about how hard he used to try to pretend to be straight when he would do stand up back in the old days.

Some Cease devotee (or perhaps its lil bro Kevin!) has taken one of my wedding pictures as his avatar and is tweeting as NotAngryComic. Apparently Biff Tannen was talking about guys just like me!

I don't know anything about being a professional comedian, but the amount of transparent sophistry and bullshit this guy spewed on Comedy and Everything Else should be a giant red flag to any thinking person.

That, and the fact that, before the serious part of the podcast, he was dull as hell and seemed to not get any of the jokes or to be able to partake in any humorous banter in a way that every other guest on that show has seemed to be able to.

Saddest tweet I read from Boot Camp?

"#scamp10 youngest student - 13 years old. Oldest student - 75 years old FYI"

There's a 13-year-old out there who either has stupid parents who paid for him, or let him empty his college fund, on this kind of thing. Why would they even ALLOW a 13-year-old in there? Horrifying!

And sad that a 75-year-old would be gullible enough to be convinced to take the class. Seniors are taken advance of enough by scammers and Nigerian princes and the like.

"It's your grandson, um... Ricky? Anyway, I'm in trouble. Wire me some money, grandma, so I can buy my way out of said trouble."

"I have an endless fortune to give you, but I first need to pay the processing fees to get it out of the bank. But wouldn't you know, even though I'm the prince and I own the bank, they still won't let me access the money to do so. Please, old stranger, save me from this perilous Catch 22."

"If you pay us $3000 and hear about how great positivity is for your life, we might give you the chance to open up for Louie Anderson in a few years. But we'll FOR SURE let you spend a day working for free to briefly appear in a Kyle Cease internet video!"

(I hope they don't cold call either of MY grandmothers!)

You all act like a bunch of Hitlers! Some of you even look like Hitler.

    Re: Kyle Cease

The thing that strikes me most about his act is how indignantly fake he is. He's the exact caricature of the terrible comic, so much so that I think he's pulling an Ann Coulter. He's making fun of the fakers by being one himself. That being said, I think that he was indeed in a frat, but that he was raped in it, and that when he refers to the struggles and hard times that he's endured he's talking about the rape, of his asshole.

    Re: Kyle Cease

here is my take, I met Kyle, he was a completely cool guy to me.

    he is a professional.

    I am not a bootcamper.

His camp is not ideal for beginners, in my opinion. It is for comics that have been grinding for a few + years. I think it's great for someone outside of LA/ NYC/ Boston/DC/ Chicago, where there isn't a huge scene.

In addition, he is not the only person giving advice, he has many other comics of different genres giving advice.

I have seen that people from his camp opening and working with his comics he brings in.

I just see alot of shit-slinging being done here, that I doubt would send in a direct email, much less face to face.

To the Original poster, I think you said something silly, and owned it, and rescinded it.

    althat being said.

$3k is a fuckload of money.

    Re: Kyle Cease

The shit-slinging is because this is a con. The only value you would glean from the workshop is the feeling you got something out of it (if that). Nobody is going to call you for your 30 minute special because they were carpet bombed with some of your shittiest material.

I don't know if you think this equates to the boldness of a direct email, but Kyle and his brother Kevin actually posted in this thread on pages seven and eight. http://aspecialthing.com/forum/f27/k...25/index7.html

I assume it was really them because they didn't say anything particularly funny, which is probably what someone posing as them would have done.

That means Kyle has read this thread, and probably still does (Hi Kyle!), because he has delusions of grandeur and believes that anyone who criticizes him is just jealous of his success(you can read all about it in ASR's link on page 5). And while some may have backed down most people stood behind their criticism of Kyle and his bootcamp, even in the face of a possible blacklisting from comedy!(again, see page 5)

Do your research Matt! What, are you too busy having a life?
Get out of here! *hisssss* Go on, get out! *hisssss* And shut that door!
