LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FX has settled on Thursday, April 1 at 10:00/9:00c as the debut of its new comedy "Louie."
The series stars comedian Louis C.K. as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father helping to raise his two daughters in New York.
C.K. serves as executive producer, writer and director, with Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment also executive producing. FX has ordered 13 episodes of the newcomer, which was shot in New York.
Two months, guys! Two months!

The look on his daughter's face when he's stuck in that door is priceless. This preview wasn't at all what I expected from Louis but it's great nonetheless.
I already love the way this looks. It's really amazing how wide the range of styles and tones that Louis has pulled off over the course of his career is.
Being stuck in a subway even more crowded than that one multiple times just makes it funnier.

"Louie" has been set to bow on April Fool's Day. The network even began seeding the internet with promos for the April 1 premiere date.
But today came word the show will instead be held for two months so that it could air in conjunction with "Rescue Me." No word yet on an exact date in June for either show.
“Louie is a brilliantly funny and original series, and we are excited by the critical response to the show,” said FX president and GM John Landgraf. “Even though it is a drama, 'Rescue Me' has always been regarded as one of the funniest shows on television and it will provide an outstanding, compatible lead-in for 'Louie.' We successfully used 'Rescue Me' as a lead-in for the majority of the first season of 'It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' We believe in Louie and want to provide it with the best possible platform for success.”
FX has recently aired comedies Thursdays at 10 p.m., with both "The League" and "Archer" airing on the night. "Louie" was set to air at 10 p.m. Thursdays as well, with no original series as a lead-in.
I thought most shows went on break during the summer.

First Leary steals material from Louie, and now he's taking away his April premiere.
