Thread: MTV's The State... and all things related

Re: MTV's The State... and all things related

yeah, the canada redub is amazing.
as is how young, hot, and in-shape everyone looks.
"This is not the Beach Boys. It can't be. Why? No beach songs! I thought it was some kind of joke. All 'Pet Sounds' offers is the opportunity to hear Brian Wilson whine for forty minutes, backed by elevator music. There's barely any Mike Love on the album at all."

I forgot that I knew all of these sketches by heart. I mean, I just remembered that I remembered them.

FYI, they're starting to show this on Comedy Central now. Also, it makes me miss Kerri Kenney-Silver doing more than one character.

'State' Secrets: The Making of 'Porcupine Racetrack'

It's too short, but still worth reading.

    >> We begin with a personal favorite, and a skit that Mr. Showalter called “the ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ of the State’s sketch canon”: “Porcupine Racetrack.”

Michael Showalter: It’s sort of the “Sgt. Pepper’s” of “The State's sketch canon. >>

    Hey, he did say it!

More ‘State’ Secrets: When Barry and Le Von Met $240 Worth of Pudding

They say this series will be continuing for "the next few days," but I don't know what that means so I'm going to keep posting these links here for anyone who forgets...? Is that the right thing to do...?

Maybe this will be my breakout moment on AST; I'll be known board-wide as that girl who so helpfully kept posting links to a series of articles that had an unknown end date! WOWOWOW. ((((((((dreams coming true))))))))

I've never noticed this before, but if you let your hair down, and take off those glasses...

I've never seen The State but always wanted to, and since I found an old Best Buy gift certificate in a drawer, I figured I might as well grab it.

Turns out there was no money on the gift card. Of course. But I bought the DVD anyway. Gonna' start it soon.

Hey guys, I've started a project:

    http://www.novirginsallowed.com/misc...%20-%20101.mp3

Download this and sync it up with episode 1 on your DVD set. I recommend pausing the mp3 track right at the end of the word EVENT (as in "and now, a special television event") and then playing your DVD and hitting play again at the right moment.

NOTES: I don't think an as-aired copy of Hops Plus exists among State fans, didn't they say in the commentary that it aired once and was taken out? I know I never saw it before DVD. So obviously it exists here in it's DVD-altered form. But everything else has it's original televised sound track.

Yes, I'm working on the other episodes.

Also, don't expect this link to stay active for that much longer. When all the episodes are done I'm gonna put this on myspleen. I just put this up as an-an-an example!
