    Nope.

One thing I do want to know is what version of Cutlery Barn was in the original episode. I don't have the episodes on my computer anymore, but I know it's at least a different take on the DVD than it is on Skits and Stickers.

My favorite bit from the commentary, as Todd sees the gigantic mouse trap from the "Slash" sketch:

Okay, so I've done episodes 1-3 for my State audio project. I was under the impression that ALL the sketches that used copyrighted music had to be redubbed dialog wise. But in laying these tracks on top of each other I'm finding that most of them so far sound like the original dialog recordings are in tact. I know 240 dollars worth of pudding might be butchered, but everything else that I've examined myself sounds good (other than the replacement music). I just thought I'd mention that in case somebody was on the fence about buying this and that made a difference.

Hey, I finished Season 1. MP3s on myspleen. Also I'm pretty sure if you change the filename of the mp3 you may or may not have downloaded from the link I supplied earlier in this thread then you can partially seed. You figure it out.

I was just listening to Fresh Air and both Michaels were on. Did you guys know that Showalter's mom is the very famous feminist critic Elaine Showalter? I studied her in collage.

Hey everyone -- I just moved over to the UK from the US for work and I was able to purchase the State DVD set (been waiting years for this just like many others).

It was nice to refresh on some of the classics but there is 1 skit that I can't seem to find that is very vivid in my memory and I'm hoping that other devoted fans can help out.

The skit has 2 characters walk up to an old, white house in a Georgia or Virginia setting and a father walks out of the door and beings asking, "Carter! Let me know as you somethin'! Are you the great, great, great grandson of...." and he goes on to close the skit with "well, you part Indian (ingin) boy, get off my property"

If anyone can tell me what seasons that's from I would be really impressed and extremely happy.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Is it possible that was in the CBS Halloween special?

I'm not sure how after years of searching I've just found it today after posting this 5 minutes ago. The skit is called "Carter's Lineage" and it's on Disc 5 of the DVD set. Absolutely hilarious.

That sketch was one of the unaired sketches that made it to Skits and Stickers, which is probably where you saw it.

Hey, thanks. It feels more complete having the correct names. Also, if anyone doesn't have it, here's the cover art:

For all of you in the NYC area, there will be a screening of The State Season One at this bar in Manhattan THIS Monday night. There's a semi private room wit a projector, so it will be cool to see the show like this, with other fans of The State....and it's free.
    8pm.
    Professor Thom's Loft.

Dear Jixby Phillips, thank you for posting the correct The State DVD audio MP3s on Myspleen. They have made my DVD watching experience a thing of perfect and true beauty.

Seasons 2-4 please. When you can.

I can't remember if this was commented on at the time, but it's pretty funny how SNL completely ripped off an old "State" sketch in 2005 in a sketch featuring Dane Cook:

    http://snltranscripts.jt.org/05/05gcoma.phtml

In the commentary for the State sketch on the new DVD set, they mention that another show stole this sketch (even down to the exact wording of a few jokes), but tiptoe around mentioning which show it was.

I can definitely tell you that the version of "Cutlery Barn" on the new DVD set is different from what aired on MTV. I've got a VHS of some original episodes, and after watching the new Cutlery Barn, I thought to myself, that seems a bit different...I went back and found my VHS, and yep...it's a different take.

You can tell by some of Kerri's speaking and the direction that Joe is looking when he pops in as the waiter.
