I feel some sort of obligation to post about this because it is maybe the first thing that they've ever not been sure about on the show that I have any knowledge on. The easy way to remember when to use the heimlich maneuver vs. CPR is that the heimlich is used for an obstructed airway (i.e. choking) when the person is still conscious. CPR is used when the person has lost their pulse (and therefore are now unconscious) to keep blood pumping through the body.
