I think analogies don't do the argument justice, either way there is the issue of having to compare something to (alleged) pedophilia. There is a lot of cognitive dissonance between how most people feel about pedophilia and how they feel about a dog peeing on a rug. The point is made but it is hard to overcome the morals attached to the two things.
But enough of that...I didn't get my Rob Schneider in on time before the recording and I'm mad as hell!
It's hard to develop an idea when there's so much cross-talk, so let me try to clarify here.
It was a mistake to have children sleeping over at his house unsupervised. Everything else you've referenced is based on conjecture and was disputed. One man's "hush money" is another man's "extortion fee." The fact is he was never found guilty of the crimes most people believe he committed, and while I, like most people, spent the last 15 years feeling dismayed at what Jackson had seemingly become, maybe a week after his death is not the time to drag his name through the mud a millionth time. Maybe we can celebrate the artist, and save judging the man for another time (or accept that there's been more than enough of that already, and that nothing criminal was ever proven). Maybe everyone who believes he was innocent is naive, but maybe everyone who believes he was guilty had problems with him for being "weird" and "different" before any of those accusations came to light. Because we cannot know the truth, I choose to look at the good this entertainer did in his public life, which was substantial, and at least for this moment, put aside the private things I found troubling. Ultimately, I'm just not comfortable judging someone so harshly on such cloudy evidence.
I forgot all about the MJ argument when I was declared the best detective in the room by the (now former) best detective in the room.
Awwww.
Honestly, I had been wondering about your doggy over the last couple months. I listened to an old NNF where Matt talked about the dog/landlord conundrum, and I realized we hadn't heard any dog stories. Sorry for your loss.
(My kitty died a few months ago, and I swear I blubbered like a baby for days.)
I don't understand all this hullaballoo about stamps.
So sorry to hear about Bama.
At one point during everyone's unease, AJK reported that MJ kept the bones of The Elephant Man in a "hyperbolic chamber." I believe that to be wildly exaggerated. Oh, and, cosh²(x) - sinh²(x) = 1. Or something.
"...ponderous man...ponderous, phucking ponderous."
It was a funny mashup of 2 rumors: MJ was trying to buy the elephant man's bones, and MJ slept in a hyperbaric chamber. Both rumors were supposedly actually "leaked" by Jackson himself, something he did for fun on a regular basis.
There is a photo of Jackson in the chamber "sleeping."
"...ponderous man...ponderous, phucking ponderous."
Not that it matters anymore, but I just re-listened to episode 225 (The one where Maria Bamford doesn't show up and Dave Holmes comes in half way through) and Dave briefly mentions that he did a special for the sequel to Behind Enemy Lines for FX but does not mention DVD on TV by name.
So in conclusion, Bridget was wrong.
Not mentioning it by name means it doesn't count.
He could be talking about 120 Minutes, Kidnapped, Behind the Big Screen, Fire Me...Please, or Top 40 Videos Of 2008, or any of his other hosting ventures. we could mean anybody!
Not that it mattered ever.

Speaking of not mattering, on the episode after that Danielle mentions that a local restaurant has a great Fish and Chips. I thought she was a vegetarian? Not that I'm mad, just curious.

Has NNF already been lined up for Sketchfest for 2010? I wont be there, but I'm looking forward to the bonus episode. Maybe have the lovely Janet Varney on mic this time instead of just in the audience,
Please Post haste the video for 515 AK 47, I need to wash the U-10 outta my mind!!!
new video eppy is up

Something funky is going on with pardcast.com. The splash page seems to be working but everything else seems to be down.
Works for me... Must be a hiccup.
Oh. Well now I'm just embarrassed.
Kale is a kind of cabbage, not seaweed. If I had to compare to anything, it would collard greens. As a Portuguese gentleman, I am FURIOUS at this error.
Good thing Jen's skirt is there to lure me back to sanity and then slowly back out of it...
