    Norm Macdonald stand up DVD's?

I have to get a hold of any video footage of Norm Macdonald doing stand up comedy. I've visited youtube and viewed those clips. Does anyone know how I can get a hold of any DVD's (are there any?) or anything with his stand up act? I'm willing to purchase anything I can get my hands on.

The set he's currently touring with would make a killer album. I'd love to hear some of the jokes again.

I haven't listened to it yet, but someone posted an mp3 bootleg of a recent Norm stand up show on the "forum" at fakenews.net.

Agreed, I just caught him a week ago and it was excellent stuff.

There aren't any dvd's of his new stuff, but if you're just looking for a dvd with Norm doing standup, there are some old standup compilation dvd sets called "Laughing out loud." I used to own one, but I think there are a few.

Thanks everyone. Barmy Man - did you enjoy "Laughing out Loud"? I'll have to order the series - 5 DVD's (the others on the series sound great too). I found an HBO set that Norm did in 1991 on youtube - I wonder if his act has changed much, or if he's currently doing some of the same jokes. This is in 3 parts, so you have to keep finding the next clip in sequence.

From what I've seen, his early act (including his HBO stuff) was very joke-oriented and tightly written, whereas when I saw him live last year, I've never felt more like a comedian was just talking off the top of their head. I'm sure he had a few beats he wanted to hit, but he was more than okay with long dead time while he thought of something to talk about, or fumbling his way through a thought until he found the funny-meat. I prefer "new Norm," so none of that should be taken as a complaint. He was amazing, plus he was ridiculously generous and approachable afterward.

The impression I've always had was that Norm comes off as sort of simple (his slow, sometimes slurred speech while he's performing) but I've heard his intelligence level is that of "genius". I heard a story of how he was on "celebrity who wants to be a millionaire" and he got all the way to the final question for $1,000,000 and then quit without answering the question but he actually knew the answer and was just a little unsure of himself. I've also heard other celebrities say that he's extremely intelligent...but aren't most highly successful stand up comics?

You know, this isn't 1930. You could actually look something like this up and confirm if it's true or not.

I still remember watching Norm on old-school comedy channel back when he had that weird look on his shiny face and he did that joke about the guy tricking his buddy into thinking he had to kill some people.... remember that?

"Hey uh... heh heh... you uh... you really got me there, ah... heh"

Someone please find this bit and post it for me... thanks, guys.

That story was told by Norm while he was a guest on the Howard Stern show - I believe I read that on the Wikipedia page about Norm Macdonald as well. I didn't know we were keeping a tally sheet of verified/confirmed facts.

I believe you're talking about the bit where Norm was talking about a guy who killed his family and said the devil made him do it. The devil turns out to be his buddy wearing a devil suit who played a trick on him. I recently saw that on youtube, but I can't remember which clip it was from. I guess you'll have to do some youtube surfing... : )
