This thread has made me dream of a new PFT sketch show that does not exist. Like real dreams at night, not just those daytime fraud dreams. I'm trying pretty hard to get a job writing in television right now, and this non-show has made me even more excited to land something. That's how optimistic this one online sketch makes me! Oh, how lovely to be a comedy nerd sometimes.
i could use a guy like you... as an example. You're fired!
classic every time.
my favorite of all time is the movie executives talking about coupon: the movie and they are all arguing and david slams his hand on the table and looks up and screams with those reptile eyes.
Great you guys, now I want to do another Mr. Show marathon but I don't have my DVD's with me right now.
That interview is great, but the comments? Not so much! Except for the guy who hipped me to the fact that there's a shitload of clips of Paul performing on YouTube.
You know, for some reason I never think to look for stand-up on YouTube.
From Paul's twitter today:

It is coming this year. Hopefully by the end of this month. // RT @EugePYDK: @PFTompkins Have you thought of doing your own podcast?
And yes, I reposted a twitter. exciting news (is this news?) though.
Paul has mentioned that he might be interested in doing a podcast at some point late last year. I seem to recall it coming up on his appearance on Todd Van Allen's TVA podcast, during and after his Tompkins300 Toronto appearance. Paul's name was also bandied about in some of the stories around the launch of iLarious, the app company started by comedy writer Fred Graver.
can he overtake the current crown that CDR Radio has for king of comedy casts?
POSSIBLY!!
nathan smart!

I reposted the Twitter on my Bring Paul F. Tompkins to New York City Facebook group, and as excited as I was to do it, I also felt a bit silly. (And hey, New Yorkers, if you haven't joined the group yet, what are you waiting for?)
I look forward to the podcast, but I'm even more interested in the tv show.
Will the initial cast/writing team of the proposed Paul F. Tompkins sketch show include Maria Bamford, Andrew Daly, Jay Johnston, and J.B. Smoove?

2010 is going to be such an awesome year, between this and CDR possibly going on tour.
