Well like I said, I got it from him being Steve Schirripa and being on T&EASGJ!, not the content of the particular sketch. Seemed more likely than Tim & Eric genuinely admiring him or whatever. But I admit it's probably that the guy just bugs me.

I like Steve Schirripa. Those "Goombah's Guide" books are stupid, but I think he's pretty great, otherwise.
I dig him on the Sopranos, although his character is a doofus too. But everything else I've seen has made me dislike him. Namely those books, his appearances on Conan, and every single thing he said on Last Comic Standing.
Tim and Eric are going to be appearing on the season finale of "Talk Show with Spike Feresten", May 16th on FOX.

Third season of Awesome Show coming to DVD August 4th.
Yeah, Tim and Eric were pretty great during the interview, but I found Feresten's behavior really offensive to both Tim and Eric and their fans. He seemed to just insult the show over and over again either by implying that all the show was was making funny faces or by saying that the show is only for people who are high. He even said himself that he just didn't get the show (or at least the Doo-Dah-Doo-Doo sketch), so I really don't understand why he had them on as guests.
This last part I disagree with. Like I said, I sincerely think he's a fan, but I think he did a really poor job of interacting with Tim and Eric. There are a lot of different ways to like Tim and Eric, and one of the more prevalent just happens to be the "Now this is crazy! What's going on here? I feel like I'm on drugs!" set. There are people who say that with amusement and enthusiasm and people who say that with anger, but either way, they're all kind of experiencing the show from somewhat of a weird distance.
Were Tim and Eric referencing this Feresten guy when they were mock - interviewed by Michael Ian Black?
"Lemme ask you, because i know people wanna know this...what are you guys on when you write that stuff?" plus comedy faces and noises
Yeah, watching that interview more recently made me think the same thing.
But I'm sure they've done plenty of interviews where they've been asked the same subtly insulting question of "you guys must smoke alot of weeeeeed!!!" which pretty much translates to "I don't understand how any human being could be creative enough to produce a show that is odd and non-sensical so I'm going to attribute it to drugs because I have no imagination of my own!!!"
I'm not saying he ain't talented, I'm just saying that you need to have a certain lack of imagination or numbed creativity to see Tim and Eric and have your first reaction be "Well, I don't get this, so the people who made it must be on drugs" or "I don't get this so everyone who watches it must be on drugs."
But I don't watch much Spike Ferensten so I can't really judge. That interview (and others like it) just rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry if I offended any Ferensten fans.
one has to take feresten's timespot/demographic and whatnot. they're somewhat infamous for a segment called "comedy for stoners."
"This is not the Beach Boys. It can't be. Why? No beach songs! I thought it was some kind of joke. All 'Pet Sounds' offers is the opportunity to hear Brian Wilson whine for forty minutes, backed by elevator music. There's barely any Mike Love on the album at all."
Just got my weekly "episode reminder" from Tim and/or Eric. Tonights episode is FULL of some special guests
Spoiler:
It's gonna be great!
