SNL opening was cute. Eric's turn to the camera on each intro thing (is there a name for that? That fake, "Oh, there's the camera!" thing that actors have to do?) and Eric's tan were funny. Always Eric's tan. His creepy, creepy tan.

I loved the way DLH held his gun so casually.

A poop joke in the first episode is a tradition.

I thought the Quall and Liebe Hart cop show thing was sort of the same general joke as the Bill Hader Quall bio-pic thing and the Jonah Hill/James Quall buddy comedy thing. I felt they could have come up with something for those two guys to do that was a little newer and fresher.

But, whatever, I still enjoyed it, just not as much as I had hoped.

I couldn't agree with you more, so I wont.

I actually enjoyed the Cinco a whole ton. I thought the writing and the editing (DJ Douggpound in the mix!) was fabulous. The sketches weren't my favorite, but the narrative was wonderful and the lead-up to the Quall of Duty thing was maybe one of the best jokes I've ever seen.

I'm very excited about where this season is going. If they have the balls to start the season with a alternate-reality Tim and Eric (a la Jim and Derrick) then I feel like they're going to do a lot of really cool stuff.

And I loved how they nailed the feel of the ending of an "SNL" show, complete w/that last bumper shot/music.

The most critical thing I feel comfortable saying is that it feels like a victory lap. Nothing was bad, certainly. But it wasn't the big step forward that the other season premieres have been to my recollection.

I loved how Jack McBrayer was put in digitally during the goodnights at the end. Good stuff.

Last week was pretty good. But this week was a top 10 episode. The ending with Tim was one of the hardest I've ever laughed at the show.
