I enjoyed the SNL song, but c'mon - 30 Rock was ridiculous. Elvis Costello going into "you know when somebody starts talking in the middle of a song, it's important?" The Beastie Boys' reasoning for people to donate a kidney? Cyndi Lauper: "I'm one of the drunk ones!"

In a battle of good vs. gooder, 30 Rock for sure.

People liked the SNL one because they recognized everyone. The 30 Rock thing had three big problems - they didn't have enough time to identify everyone, there was no central personality to focus it (unavoidable) and you couldn't understand the lyrics.

Also, the SNL song was a real song.

I prefer the 30 rock one. They got assholes who would actually do those We Are the World things, and it was pretty self deprecating.

SNL one was better because Paul Rudd was in it and Clay Aiken was not.

I forgot about Michael McDonald! How does that not clinch it for 30 Rock? That makes me wonder if McDonald watches the show, and if he saw the episode where Jenna did an impression of him for Kenneth's blind crush. So great.

This puts us in a dead heat, people!

30 Rock's song was probably funnier, but something about the SNL Will Ferrell song just warmed the heart. Having all the past cast members, especially Norm, as well as hosts from earlier in the season, and one of the all-time great SNL hosts Tom Hanks, made you think of the legacy of this show, all singing, "And we will all go down together..." I will cop to welling up a little bit.

In summary: 30 Rock- funnier. SNL- more special.
