My cohorts at the www.sanfranciscoburgerblog.tumblr.com and I went for another stop the other day at a place called Flipper's. Here's the "Chili Flip," aka a Chili Cheeseburger w/ curly fries.
The review is up and ready. Because we're retarded, there's also now a Facebook page and a twitter feed - @sfburgerblog

Oh yeah, I went over to my Korean friend's parent's house and we had Korean BBQ. That's a great entry point for a dumb American eater like myself. I loved the dipping sauce with the salt poured into it.
I did pass on the Kimchi though - I don't much care for cabbage much less the pickled kind.

Yes, I have been making it myself. A Korean grocery store nearby sells frozen thin cut rib eye for about 2 bucks a pound.
Edit: I don't know how it's that cheap, and I'm afraid to ask.

Another cooking tip: you can make hot pot (what Japanese refer to as shabu shabu) using a deep fryer filled with water instead of oil:

You can also make shabu shabu in a jacuzzi.
What was the best concert you've been to?
-- Probably Sade. It was just so sexy and relaxing.
I enjoy imagining your avatars are having this conversation.

I mean, Kimchi encompasses more than the most well known napa cabbage variety. Kimchi is any of the many forms of pickled stuff you get at a good Korean restaurant. Some are radishes, bean sprouts, potato, all sorts of stuff. But, if you don't like pickled stuff in general than I guess you're better off leaving it be.
On another note, there used to be this really scary Korean lady who lived in my neighborhood who always wore a ratty blond wig, crazy fake nails and dressed like a hooker. My roommate and I called her Little Kimchi.![]()

Here are more donuts. The back one is a kruller filled with blueberry cream cheese, this other one is filled with delicious fresh strawberries.
Oh my god, that strawberry one looks divine! Where can I get one of these?!
