Oh boy, here it goes. ..
1. Kanye West “Good Life Ft. T-Pain” (Graduation)- [[How is this my first song!?! Cure you iPod. Sometimes I guarantee the shuffle purposely tries to screw with your mind …]] I think I got this album because it came out the same day as 50 Cent’s “Curtis” album and 50 Cent promised that if Kanye sold more albums than him he would stop recording. Also, need a little auto-tune every once in a while. Great article about Kanye on Cracked: http://www.cracked.com/blog/what-if-...st-is-retarded.
2. Travis Barker and DJ-AM “Coachella 7” (Fix Your Face 2)- These guys made 2 amazing mash up/ dance albums together, but all good things must come to an end. Sometimes it is just at the end of a crack pipe. This mix includes: Michael Jackson “Wanna Be Starting Something,” White Stripes “7 Nation Army” and Daft Punk “One More Time.”
3. The Beach Boys “Surfer Girl” (Greatest Hits)- I love finding the innuendo, both sexual and drug related, in Beach Boys songs. Not as much in this song, but you can always imply things like, Surfer Girl is referring to a heroin needle. Might be a bit of a stretch
4. Sage Francis “Threewrite” (Sick of Waging War)- Sage Francis is a 40-something rapper from Rhode Island. There are more (good) white rappers out there besides Eminem. This song, like a good amount of his tracks is about a failed relationship.
5. Rage Against the Machine “Ashes in the Fall” (The Battle of Los Angeles)- I typically only listen to Rage when I’m really angry or if I am taking the subway home to the Bronx after a long day at work. There music just makes me want to punch something, or stick something in a blender and watch it turn to sawdust. Then I go on to the next song and realize that punching and blending things doesn’t accomplish much.
6. Blink-182 “Online Songs” (Take Off Your Pants and Jacket)- Wow, haven’t heard this in a while. This went on my iPod when I originally got it 5 or 6 years ago. This comes from when I though I was cool for listening to pop-punk and wishing I could afford a skateboard. I probably should do some deleting on this thing and free up some space for all those lovely podcasts I’ve become too engaged with.
7. Doug Stanhope “Breakfast Trannies” (Deadbeat Hero)- I think Stanhope is king of cringe and no holds barred. I think his albums are great because you don’t get the normal comedy club laugh track, but rather people moaning and wishing they had gone to a movie instead. By the way, Stanhope has a new album “From Across the Street.”
8. Jay-Zeezer “Only In a Moment of Clarity” (The Black & Blue Album)- Wow, another mash up. I guess my iPod likes the bootlegs today. Not sure who made this, but similar vibe to The Grey Album. Some of the tracks are sped up a bit too much, but its still fun.
9. Atmosphere “Pour Me Another” (You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun Were Having)- If you even like rap a little bit you should pick up an Atmosphere album. Similar to Sage Francis (#4) Atmo doesn’t profess Bling & Bentleys, but rather living off minimum wage and Lincoln Town Cars. These guys seem like they are having a lot of fun making music, and it shows in their music.
10. MC Lars “iGeneration” (The Graduate)- [[Anyone else find it weird that the iPod Shuffle put my first album as “Graduation” and “The Graduate” for my tenth?]] MC Lars is the frontrunner of the Nerdcore movement. This song is nerdy, but not nearly as some other Nerdcore artists who write songs about D&D and odes to Chun-Li. You try and find something that rhymes with Showdooken…
Well there we go. Have fun examining and critiquing.

. Check out Laura Marling if you like that kind of mellow-ish british pop music. She's much more subtle and acoustic, but really amazing.
