I finally got NBA2k9 in the mail. Holy crap, can anyone say Twin Towers? Love + Jefferson + kicking out to Mike Miller for the 3= a weird angry robot face from Chauncey Billups.
It plays a lot better than last years though, a lot more responsive in the controls. Plus two monsters in the paint.
Also, a monster regardless of paint situation.

I'm optimistic about it, it's supposed to be a prequel/sequel kind of deal, although I'm vaguely worried that Ken Levine isn't going to be working on it, I heard he was an absolute nightmare to work with, hence his non-involvement.
But the announcement of Bioshock 3? Come on.

We are going to get carpet bombed with Bioshock over the next few years. Multiple sequels + multiple movies. It's too early to tell if this is good or bad*.

ditto on NBA 2k9. seems like every year it handles more and more realistically. no more pressing the right stick 15 feet away from the hoop and zooming into layups and dunks.
the only thing that's bothering me is the horrible xbox live features. you can't just start a game with a friend any more without getting into a lobby, and you can't play your friends in ranked matches. also, no more 2k camera.
I have been playing Far Cry 2 for the past few days and it has succeeded in making me wish that more console games had map editors. It hasn't been out for too long, but already there are user created maps such as "D-Day" (Omaha Beach), "I Am Legend" (long bridge littered with cars), several COD4 and COD5 maps, and other cool shit.
The game itself is just okay, I don't really care for the single player but I felt the same about Far Cry Predator and Instincts.
As for Fallout 3, I have my copy reserved at Blockbuster but won't pick it up until later this week probably...my desire to get preorders at midnight releases just vanished sometime this past year.
i was skeptical about midnight preorders, but i have gone to a few in the past months and always have an awesome time made friends at the Fable 2 one last week.
