I just finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Aside from the villains you fight for the last third of the game, everything about the game was fun. I judged it rather harshly based on the not-great demo they released.
Uncharted might be my favorite game for the PS3. I really got swept up in the story and gameplay. Very fun.

I just beat Bionic Commando: Rearmed last night and it really took me back. That game is still fun and I can't wait to get back in and find all the extra stuff.

Re: This is the new games thread

Since I have a console (Wii) now for the first time in a few video game generations, I need some help. I am really really jonesing for a good hockey game. NHL 94 and NHL 95 are probably the best hockey games ever. It would appear, though, that I have a choice between the 2k Sports and EA Sports varieties (maybe). (I can't seem to find official confirmation that NHL 09 is coming out for Wii; Gamespot has screenshots of NHL 09 on Wii, but I can find no mention of it coming out on either wikipedia or EA's site. And come on, Madden 09 just came out for the PS2.)

In any event, how crappy have hockey games become in the last 15 years? And, am I going to be disappointed if I get NHL 2k9 over NHL 09 (assuming I can get both)?

I think Ice Hockey (NES) is available for the Wii Virtual Console.

Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't been on this site in quite awhile and I was wondering if there was anyway to access the old video games thread or if all was lost in the renovation.

The last few EA hockey games have been the best Hockey Games ever made, I don't see why 09' would'nt be stellar as well.

If a Canadian says it, it must be true!

NHL 09 is supposed to have a ridiculous online component, where you up to 49 friends can form a team and compete in a league.

Is Tiger Woods 09 for Wii finally the one that gets it right? Or do I have to wait another year for that new motion sensor doohickey?

I got MLB Power Pros 08 for DS yesterday. I've only played it a little bit, and everyone online is bitching that it doesn't have a "season" mode, but so far I think it's lots of fun.

Downloading a file that big off of torrent and getting it to burn to a CD properly takes years and is full of misfires and such. No thanks.

Has anyone played Braid on the 360 arcade yet?

I've played the demo and, althouth it's short, I found it really fun and challenging.

Someone also said that it only took a day for him to do it.

I have Braid and it's really cool, but super hard. I'm a baby.

I have a guest pass to Team Fortress 2 burning a hole in my steam account. Who wants it?

I'm not sure if it's actually leaked yet, but it is being sold in Germany and Australia. I've been reading some disappointing things about the game lately. This sums up a lot of what people are saying:

It feels like they spent 8 years working on customization instead of actual gameplay.
This is the first computer game I've actually paid for in maybe a decade. I'm still excited for it, but it doesn't sound like it's going to change the world like it was touted to a few years back.

Mount it to a virtual drive, then you don't have to worry about burning a cd.

That sounds like the Sims, really interesting at first, but no real point to it.
