I am all for the investment of complicated games but I think your discounting the experience you have with the Wii. It isn't just a "fluff." Besides games like Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda, etc., the wii-remote itself is an investment. Sure, you can jump in and just play Wii Music. But, there are so many things to tweak in that game that to truly have fun you have invest the time to have fun with it.But games aren't just fun anymore, they're experiences. Not that they aren't fun, but they're much more than that now. This is good for some people, bad for others. The Wii has been so successful because it's fluff. When there's no depth, anyone can jump in and enjoy. It takes some investment to have fun with game comparitivly more hardcore than "Mime Tennis a friend!".
I know there are a lot of stupid get rich quick games on the Wii, but that system is far from fluff.
Most SNES games were bad? I don't want to have to run through a list and point out how wrong you are, but that is such a wrong statement. And it is incorrect to say that if you can't remember it, it was bad. I can't tell you how many times I've gone through SNES ROM lists and downloaded the awesome games I've forgotten over the years and had so much fun with.About the ps1/snes thing, ps1 had a wopping 1239 games. Most of them were shit, no doubt, but people seemed to forget that although Megaman and Zelda were awesome, most snes games were bad. Generally, if you can't remember it, it was probably bad.
I would also venture to say that, played today, a bad SNES is worse than a bad PS2/PS1 game.
Also, are you counting Japanese games too? I've played so many amazing Japanese SNES games that never made it over here. And same with PS1.

SNES has the most astounding ratio of good to bad games. Meaning, maybe one or two bad games.
Even stuff like TV-show games (Animaniacs, Tiny Toons) were amazing back then.
Though... Nickelodeon GUTS! was one of the bad games.

IS IT HYRULE???
Night gathers, and now my snark begins. It shall not end until it gets hacky. I shall take my wife(... please!), hold no lands, father no negative ratings. I shall wear no crowns and win no AST Top 20 Rankings. I shall live and die by my posts. I am the LOL in the darkness. I am the fire that burns against the trolls, the sneer that guards the realms of men from Kyle Cease's Comedy Boot Camp. I pledge my life and honor to the AST's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.
Hey. Sometime soon, no idea when, Battlefield 1943 is going to come out on Live for $15 bucks. You should get it and play it with me and Arch.

Same. Though I get the feeling I won't be seeing most of you guys over on the PSN.
Definitely not me. My PS3 won't fire up anymore (as of last month). Does anyone know anything about swapping out the power supply? They go for $60 on ebay, I think it may be a common problem (I have an original 60GB).
My theater is a couple weeks from finishing and I don't have my blu-ray plus I will have to merely imagine what The Burnout Bigscreen Experience would be like, rather than seeing (feeling) it for my own self. Bummer*.
*sad smiley face (now that I think about it emoticons make no sense, why would a smiley do anything but?)
i call them famicoms like in my native japanesuru
fight night round 4 ftw
(or so it seems. i still have to go get it.)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks pretty good.
Just hope the Yoshi aspect isn't too much.
EDIT:
May have been mentioned already, but another Mario game is on the way.
"Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story".

Is the goal of that game to get Bowser to use his inside voice?
some people are just born with it

Don't know if anyone here still cares about Fallout, but the newest expansion, Point Lookout, is by far the best. Lots of fun sidequests and places to explore.
Love Fallout. PS3 is just getting the expansions now. Bout time. Sony really needs to court DLC the same way Microsoft does.
Hey guys, this new Ghostbusters game is a pretty big disapointment. Ramis and Ackroyd may have written it... but they forgot to include anything funny. Murray is obviously just reading lines and brings nothing to the table. The gameplay is super-repetitive and boring... there's only one real puzzle type...
I kind of liked it for about an hour, but quickly realized not much was going on. It's one of my favorite movies of all time so I really wanted to like this...but even with the license and voices, it's hard to play through... and I beat it in about 6 hours..
I don't know - I'm having a lot of fun with it. And while I may not laugh my ass off while playing, it's at least fun to listen to. The soundtrack alone makes me feel good.
It seems like an enjoyable arcade game to me.
