When this was a steampunk board, I would post as GrahamBell'sOperator.

I have to say, living in NYC, it's no longer depressing reading many of these posts.

My name is Brandon. I go to Penn State. I write for Phroth Magazine there and have a radio show among other things. I started performing stand-up a few months ago and I really, really like it. Hope to talk to you guys soon!

Re: New members: introduce yourselves here

Hello. My name is soce, the elemental wizard. I am a level 27 hip hop spellcaster. Strangely enough, I mostly perform my interplanetary rap music at stand-up comedy shows instead of at 8 Mile-style cyphers and battles. Sometimes I also tell jokes before jumping into the music, generally talking about the fact that I went to yale, love math and blog a lot. Audiences are incredulous.

I'm probably facebook friends with many of you (and if we're not, then we should be!), and you may have read some of my interviews or show reviews in the apiary or city scoops. So that's me. Oh and also I make group sketch comedy videos.

Smart enough to figure out that a guy with 3 (now 4) posts "ain't from around here". Not smart enough to end his question with a question mark.

you should probably slow your roll a bit until you've got more than 3 (now 4) posts.
"This is not the Beach Boys. It can't be. Why? No beach songs! I thought it was some kind of joke. All 'Pet Sounds' offers is the opportunity to hear Brian Wilson whine for forty minutes, backed by elevator music. There's barely any Mike Love on the album at all."

Re: New members: introduce yourselves here

I signed up a while ago but didn't see the thread to introduce myself. I'm Doug, I take a lot of photos, I found the forum via NNF and took ages before I joined. I attended MaxFunCon, which featured most of my favorite podcasts, and as of this morning I was name-checked on the Comedy and Everything Else podcast (Episode 53).

This means the secret website I've been working on for them for the last six weeks has gotten validation, may eventually see the light of day, and help them become far more popular.

Re: New members: introduce yourselves here

My name is David. I found the forum earlier this year when I was searching for whether or not David Cross would be on the Larry the Cable Guy Roast and if they were roasting the character or Daniel Whitney. I was drawn in by the intelligence and funniness of the people who post here. Although I love comedy and consider it a challenging and unique form of art, unfortunately I am not personally very funny nor do I have a super quick wit or any of that. So hopefully I can hang around and just soak up the funnysuds and occasionally opine on something about which I will no doubt be ill-qualified to opine.

Re: New members: introduce yourselves here

OK, I'm not that new here, but I just noticed this thread.

I'm Michael. People have asked me if I'm an actor and/or comedian.
I don't know if I'm funny enough to "get up there" yet, so I thought I'd try out this forum to gauge others based on skills and aspirations.

I guess I'm just waiting for that "spark" to give me the impetus to ascend to the comedic stage. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Maybe if I worked on expurgating my sedition it would work...???
