Did ast video go away? I'm not saying I watched a bunch on it, but the link doesn't seem to work.

moving the subforums to the bottom is nice when it's those lousy aspiring comedians who are forced to the back of the bus, but the same thing happened in the show listings, which is a bit of a bummer.
"This is not the Beach Boys. It can't be. Why? No beach songs! I thought it was some kind of joke. All 'Pet Sounds' offers is the opportunity to hear Brian Wilson whine for forty minutes, backed by elevator music. There's barely any Mike Love on the album at all."

I'm curious how people navigate the site.

I always go to the base URL then click on "New Posts" on the left sidebar, which pretty much renders any subforums moot since all posts are listed.

But that's how I like doing it; I'm not complaining or anything.

Why? If you want quick access to any forum, you can go from the forum home, or use the forum jump menu.

This is basically what I do, except I just have the "New Posts" link bookmarked. Then, I'll go back as far as need be until I hit the "Posts below this are not new since you last came, but have unread posts blah blah blah." Then I'll start middle clicking (in Firefox, it opens a link in a new tab) the "Most recent post" icon for the threads I want to read. That way I feel like I'm reading the site chronologically.

well, it's mostly a complaint specific to the way in which i browse the forum, but i also think it looks ugly and isn't particularly ideal from a usability or logic stand-point, either.
    it's really minor nitpicking, though.

however, the "aspecialthing forum" link is now a dead end of sorts. adding the stand-up forum messed up the numbers, obviously.

    Fuck it. You win.

(The numbers had nothing to do with it, though).

How do I get my profile picture to show up when I post? If I go to the 'Edit Profile Picture' section on the User CP, I can see the current picture (I did try deleting and re-uploading the file), but nothing shows up when I post. It's the same picture I had before the last crash, so I don't believe it's a problem with the dimensions or size of the picture.

No, but you are free to rate them, with a simple + or -. This is mainly to appreciate posts that make you laugh or you feel are well-written and/or especially thoughtful. You can also rate posts as a - if you feel they are particularly unhelpful or ridiculous; we trust the members of this site won't abuse the feature.

Anonymous forum. (Slightly Friends Of Tom "Chinatown"-inspired.) Maybe have a post-number minimum or something in order to use it so it's not totally Canadian flames?

I realize that the main goal of AST is to be positive and encourage discussion rather than incite arguments, but sometimes it's hard to offer any kind of criticism, even if it's meant to be constructive.

So the post thing changed so you can't do a '-' anymore? Seems like a nice thing to do.

    What's a Canadian flame?
What was the best concert you've been to?

-- Probably Sade. It was just so sexy and relaxing.

She's talking about when we had a flood of Canadians registering simply to attack Doug Benson for being on Fox News show "Red Eye" and participating in some Canada-bashing the day some Canadian soldiers died (which Doug was unaware of). Doug issued a public apology on television, we cleaned out his thread, the end.
