Thread: Sporots

    Re: Sporots

Lakers organization and a Riverside Press Enterprise sports writer say it's a hoax.

And in a related story, Amare has joined the cast of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

I coveted Amare a couple years ago, but now I am relieved. I like this Laker team, and all I want is for Mitch to keep everyone together.

This is a great piece on Kobe's contract options, but it's good reading for any NBA fan.

    http://www.realgm.com/src_feature_pi...agency_primer/

The writer says if Kobe wants to make the most amount of money he will wait until next summer and let his contract expire (as opposed to opting out by this June 30). Players will want to get the most amount of years signed under the current collective bargaining agreement, set to expire in 2011. The new one is expected to be more favorable to the owners. Aside from Kobe, it's a good primer on extension versus new contracts, and even the Over-36 rule, which I had never heard of previously.

God.. this Rubio stuff is driving me insane... I want him to play here so bad... why does there have to be drama along with it? He's the perfect compliment to Jefferson..... Ugh... Nothing comes easy for a Minnesota sports fan.

i feel sorry for you guys. I can't imagine how annoying it is to deal with all this Rubio stuff when you're actually a wolves fan -- I'm annoyed and bummed out and i couldn't care less about minnesota sports. i just want to see him play.

Then he'll be more like Stockton than Maravich.

OMG.... I can't even allow myself to think that the U.S. might be able to pull this off...

I thought the Spain win was just a set up to blow it against Brazil.

Now it looks like we may be making an earnest run at the Cup

...so we can blow it next year in the World Cup.

Well, they proved they're the better team... Woulda been epic though.

    Re: Sporots

The first half was a lot of fun but the second half was a real reality check. Brazil needed to score four in a half (to overcome Dempsey, Donovan and a blind ref), so they scored four in a half.

    Wow.

It's looking more and more like he'll return to the ACB. I think he saw your tapes.
What was the best concert you've been to?

    Re: Sporots

Yao's probably done, as I suspected from the rumor that Rockets GM Morey was going hard after Amare. On the plus side he can build a team from scratch, but of course on the other han:gunshot:

ARGH I really hope not. Why not just play in Minnesota? He will make more money and in 3 years he can go where he wants. Also, fuck I want to watch him play next year.

You're asking why someone from Spain doesn't want to live in Minnesota?

    Re: Sporots

I really don't get all these rumors about the Knicks. It still gets cold in New York and they have been possibly the worst run franchise in the league for a decade. If just being in that market makes you a star, why does no one care about anyone on the Knicks? I'm pretty sure Kevin Garnett did alright making money while he played here. This isn't some cow town either, it's the #13-14 market in the country.

Also, don't you play a ton of games on the road? This all seems like a media created effort to get him to New York. I don't know if people from New York understand that they're the only ones that think about New York all the time.

Hopefully someone shows him some Al Jefferson highlights...

    Speaking of rumors ...

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns

The Yahoo guy is saying he has been told by sources that Yao will miss all of next season because of his foot injury, and that his sources have told him that they think the franchise is bracing for even longer.
