I'm going to let the verbose Lakers fan deal with this when the time comes, but Ron Artest is not isnane. He's very sane. I will love him forever, he's great and real

Arrest and Kobe is a dynamic duo of hateability. I think they ranked 1 and 2 in a player poll of who you'd least like to play with. Should be fun!

Now what about Odom? Are the Lakers so star-struck by their new bauble that they think they don't need him either?

Trial is right. Applying for a job at Circuit City in the off season so you can get an employee discount is completely reasonable behaviour for an NBA player.
What was the best concert you've been to?

-- Probably Sade. It was just so sexy and relaxing.

Hedo is going to Portland. Now Odom just needs to bring it home. Apparently he was involved in convincing Artest to join the Lakers, which seems to indicate he'll be here (unless he's pulling an Elton Brand).

If you can think of a better way to get a Circuit City employee discount I'd like to hear it.

Hedo is NOT going to Portland. Look out Canada, here comes a Turkey! (I hope he likes afrobeat festivals.)

And with Turk landing in Toronto, the whole NBA breathes a sigh of relief.

Orlando next year with their lineup intact and Nelson healthy would be pretty terrifying. Now, with Vince Carter instead of Turk, not so much. They'll still be one of the top teams for sure, but Turk in that system set up so much for Rashard and Howard. He just clicked with that team and his worth was inflated because of it...same goes with Ariza.

Let Turk count his money up north w/ Bosh and maybe that team is a fifth-seed in the East next year.

Him in Portland didn't make much sense. They need some veteran leadership, but Hedo is only getting such a large salary because of he can close out games in the playoffs. Portland already has a guy to do that and I don't think Hedo would've put them over the top in the West.

Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed, a source has confirmed to ESPN.com.

McNair, police said, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville. A female victim was also found dead, police spokesperson Don Aaron said. Aaron said the woman has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.

The incident happened near 2nd South & Lea Ave in Nashville.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 were with the Titans. He played his final two years with the Baltimore Ravens, retiring after the 2007 season.

McNair was picked third overall in the 1995 draft out of Alcorn State by the then Houston Oilers.

    R.I.P.

I really liked watching him play, and when he was at Alcorn State he was pretty big in the south. I remember my old baseball coach wearing a shirt that said "Air be nimble, Air be quick, Air be our number one Heisman Pick."

I'm sure a lot of folks down there are distraught over this because he seemed like such a great guy and a good role model.

Hope he didn't do anything crazy.

As NFL players go, he seemed like the least likely to be involved in a shooting. I mean, he's not Ray Lewis. I'm going to remain confident that this was some sort of random shit until I hear differently.

Looks like the girl did it, and judging by some of the stuff I read about the girl she had already threatened him once before because she accused him of slipping her a roofie? was that he same girl? i dunno.

@Real_Ron_Artest is going after Shaq's crown for best athlete on twitter...

RT Watchin' Armageddon. Wouldn't be easier to teach astronauts to be drillers than drillers 2 b astronauts? This movie sucks.
Night gathers, and now my snark begins. It shall not end until it gets hacky. I shall take my wife(... please!), hold no lands, father no negative ratings. I was heartbroken when I realized that wasn't really Ron's Twitter. I so wanted it to be! Since it's not, whoever's writing that shit can fuck off.

So, Sheed to Boston? If that team stays healthy, they will be very very very good. (They were already very very good -- Sheed gives them one more very.) PS: I do not think they will stay healthy. Them cats is old.

No one's mentioning how the Celtics might have assembled the angriest front court ever assembled in NBA history: Mikki, KG, Perkins and Wallace. How many technicals are we talking per game?

Somebody has to crack a smile at some point.
