Oh please, Ohio State, don't fucking throw this game away.
This has been the best weekend in the history of Cornell sports.
The men's basketball team is in the sweet 16.
The women's hockey team made it to the NCAA finals before falling in triple OT.
The wrestling team had an individual champion and finished second overall at the NCAA tournament.
The men's hockey team won its conference tournament and will play in the NCAA tournament next weekend in Albany.
Let's Go Red!

And don't forget that Andy Bernard kissed a girl!
Well, Maryland lost from a three point shot at the buzzer. Still, other team won 219-212. So pretty good weekend.

I assume you're talking about the bowling team.
As a green-blooded MSU fan (and alum), I can honestly say that I have never experienced a game quite like that. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, and then vice versa. And frankly, I don't remember ever WINNING a game on a buzzer-beater. A new experience for me.
And dominating a pretty good Maryland team for 38 minutes, despite MSU playing without its best player (or its entire starting backcourt), and having the 9, 10, and 11 guys logging heavy minutes is pretty impressive. Impressive enough to excuse the absolute meltdown at the end.
A few tournament thoughts:
Syracuse looks like its playing for a national championship. KSU looks solid, too (really physically imposing team), setting up a great matchup in the Final Eight.
Has there ever been a more clear-cut "Good vs. Evil" game than the Cornell-Kentucky coming up? I think Cornell can hang. And if they can hang, with those shooters, they can pull it out down the stretch. The big difference (I think) between this game and the previous two for Cornell is that they will not get the second looks against Kentucky that they have been absolutely thriving on in the first two games. Cornell eats up tipped balls and long rebounds. Kentucky is an exponential step up in athleticism -- Cornell will not dominate the loose balls like they have. This just leaves Cornell a smaller margin of error. They'll have to hit their shots (which they have so far).
Don't look now, all you anonymous Big Ten haters, but the Big Ten has three teams in the Sweet Sixteen -- more than any other conference.
Too bad we lost Kalin Lucas this weekend. With Lucas, I think Michigan state could make a run at the title in a non-Kansased tourney. Without him, they could still make the Final Four, but I don't see how they get past Syracuse or KSU without their best player.
And yeah health care reform! Regardless of what happens in the next six months, history will vindicate this law. Wrong thread?
Kentucky just better hope that if they make the final four that they don't vacate it while Calipari slips through the exit door for the NBA.
I'm sad to say that Kentucky is basically the worst possible matchup for Cornell. They are fast as hell on offense, Cousins and Patterson both look like they can cover Foote one-on-one down low and in '08 and '09 Cornell got killed in the tournament when they played against a team that could force the outside shooters to really work. The only reason I am giving them a chance is because they are incredibly efficient on offense and very mature as a team. Kentucky is better, but also very young. The closest analog I can think of is the Fab Five's freshman year title game - but Cornell isn't as good as that Carolina team so... I guess I'm just happy to be here and will be ecstatic if the team is still playing on Saturday.
