Doesn't matter at all. Eventually, Durant will have expectations placed on him that he won't be able to live up to, and people will start calling him Kevin Nowitzki and wonder if his inability to win the big games (or championship ring) is part of a deep character flaw. He wilts in the spotlight, he can't shoulder the burden alone, etc. Then he will get tired of being nice and open, and keep his comments to the bare-minimum cliches.

I don't know I think you can control expectations and we are not really talking about the winning not winning thing. I think Steve Nash is a good example of a person who has not won a championship but is not vilified for it.

I think the NL West is fascinating, because the fall of the Padres is showing how unforgiving the long season is: you can get by on half-truths and gorilla dust for a while, but eventually, if your team looks like there's no way it can keep winning, it wont.
