Hey Iowa comedy fans, wanted to post this show info!!!

Hello, two other Iowans. When is the next installment of the 11th Amendment Comedy Show (or the first... you didn't list a date in the last post, punkdc). I live in Des Moines and am interested in checking out any comedy in the area. My buddy Greg just started doing stand up in Cedar Falls... eventually, I hope to give it a try as well. ... kewl beans and stuff - catch up with you fellas later!

A very very speical edition of 11th Amendment Comedy show! Our two normal hosts will be recording demo cds! Also there will be tons of skits, improv, and stand up comedy in preparation for Veishea Say's I'm Funny! Comics include:

Unfortunately, I'll be working during this ('cuz I work every Tuesday night - NOW YOU KNOW!). Eventually, I'll get a chance to check this thing out. You ever check out the open mic. night at Joker's Comedy Club in Cedar Falls? I went there a month or so ago to watch a buddy perform - really nice venue w/ cheap drinks. I'm going to give stand-up a try in a couple of weeks; maybe some of you dudes'll be there?

I still have yet to check out a show at AK's... probably due to a most comedy-unfriendly work schedule that includes Thursday nights. Where's the Monday/Wednesday/Sunday comedy!?! Thanks for the invitation to the 11ACS - if things work out, I'll take you up on it sooner than later.

I thought I'd post this info. for anybody else interested (as I've only seen it posted on twitter). The Des Moines Social Club (http://desmoinessocialclub.org) is putting together an improv troupe and are having auditions Wednesday night (4/15) at 7:30. That's all I've seen, more info. can probably be obtained at their site, maybe? ... or message them on twitter @DMSocialClub... See you there, perhaps?

Anybody have any info. on whether or not A.K. O'Connor's will be doing open mic. nights at either of their remaining locations? ...or any other open mic.'s in Des Moines?

Myself and Jordan T will be on the June 18th date. We'd love to hang out with you at one of these shows! Jordan and I will be going on tour for a bit so we aren't going to be at local shows for awhile. I called both of the AK's (West Des Moines and Beaverdale; the Court Ave. closed last weekend) this evening and both said they weren't... maybe I'll call again tomorrow afternoon. The People's contest could be pretty awesome - I've been waiting for the Des Moines Social Club to start an open mic. night. I can't remember to check MySpace (mentally replaced w/ facebook & twitter), so I can't depend on it for updates and messages. Any fan pages on facebook or twitter account updated with this info.? I'm definitely interested in coming up to see Visioneers. I work at the Fleur (indie theater in Des Moines) and we're not getting it, so I'd written off seeing it 'til it hits DVD. If there aren't any FB or T updates, hopefully I'll catch 'em here. I'm bummed I couldn't make it up on the 2nd for the 11AC show.

I messaged Joel (from my dead band's myspace!) and was informed that the Thursday night Open Mic. will be continued at People's on Court Ave, beginning tonight. Hopefully, my buddies and I will make it down there (I'm not scheduled out of work until 10...)!

The House of Bricks (525 East Grand Ave, Des Moines, Iowa 50309) I guess is having an open mic tonight at 7:30 and goes until 9:30. $1 domestics. Be there!

Are you still planning on having a Visioneers screening? I'm thinking of trying to set one up at the Des Moines Social Club here in Des Moines.

UPDATE: It looks like we'll probably be go for a screening at the DMSC on Monday, Sept. 7th. I'll post here later on to confirm.

UPDATE: It is on for Monday, Sept. 7th, 7pm, at the Des Moines Social Club (http://www.desmoinessocialclub.org). Tickets will be $5.
