I've got a spare ticket, so I'll hit up the standby line or something.

    First Post Alert:

Had a great time last night, and got to meet one of my comedy heroes Mr. Bob Odenkirk and get his John Hancock. Thanks UCB and CDR.

Took some friends to CDR for the first time and it was definitely a different than usual type of show. They enjoyed it but they probably would have been better broken in with a more standard show Lots of anti-comedy and in-jokes. Everyone was really going for it though and many truly succeeded. Personally, I really enjoyed Tim Heidecker's stand-up and everything that Bob did. Oh and Zach Galifianakis.

Someone will do a better full recap then I could offer up so I'll leave that for the pros.

I remember a little more than the previous guy, but not much. Some incredible characters made cameos all night. Only an hour show, but efficient.

Gary Rudoren and Bob Hoffman did a brief tutorial in comedy. Most notably the single take vs. the double take vs. the triple take vs. the neverending take? vs. the spit take. Hoffman came back later as a comedy gossip columnist back from the festival in Montreal. He mentioned he saw Dave Foley in a hall and he spotted Howie Mendel actually shaking hands.

Brian Stack came out and gave advice on how to become a funny snob. He said his shoes were made from spotted owl and were fashioned to look New Balance sneakers.

Tim Heidecker had a nice set. He talked about how the differences between Democrats and Republicans was similar to the difference between Pepsi and Coke. Then he shared some stories about his loyalty to Coke.

Neil Hamburger came out and did something with slick wet hair and flem.

Craig Anton came out as a hackey old comic with a punchline drummer with horrible timing (Ron Lynch).

Scott Aukerman, BJ Porter, Bob Odenkirk (and someone else whose name escapes me) were a clumsy barbershop quartet who sang Steven Wright jokes.

Demanding Casting Director Dino Stamatopolous auditioned Jay Johnston for a one-liner.

Bob Odenkirk as Kip Cavett (the great comedian interviewer whose brother interviewed the likes of Groucho), interviewing Zach, a man who he respects highly. Zach interrupted the first question to promote The Hangover "in theatres June 5th", then Bob asked "Is that a poster or a movie?"

Matt Walsh came out and did some topical stuff straight out of the New Dork Times to Kip's delight.

The show was a lot funnier than this post.

I'm really upset I had to leave due to coughing fit, but the CD is still amazing!!

Amazing show all around, everyone was excellent, but I still have to say the highlights for me were Tim Heidecker's stand up act, I hope he comes back to CDR again soon and does it again, it was beyond amazing, he just pulls it off so well. I would really like to see Tim and Eric at UCB more often, I wish they'd come by more........and Bob Odenkirk as Kip Cavett interviewing Zach Galifianakis and Matt Walsh.

"Now this Hangover, is that a movie that you're doing or is it just a poster?" - Kip Cavett

Hilarious line, It was awesome to have Bob and Zach on stage together.

Also, if no one else mentioned it, Gary Rudoren wasn't there due to a "comedy emergency" as Eric Hoffman put it. Stepping in for him was the announcer on the Comedy By The Numbers CD, which I can't remember his name Scot Robinson.

    Here here!!

Tim and Eric haven't done a solo show at the UCB since October of 2006 (if memory serves me right).

Scot Robinson is the CBTN announcer voice. He was also in the Singing sketch.
