For about the first two and a half years of living here, I actively avoided going to Zanies. I don't know why... I guess I got enough standup from the Lakeshore and Lincoln Lodge and Chicago Underground... and maybe I thought Zanies was too old and stale.
But recently I've gone to see Jackie Kaishan, Kevin Meaney, and Jimmy Pardo and had a lot of fun each time - maybe I've been turned around on the place. I'm still not going to buy 2 drinks and spend $22 to see 90% of the folks they book, but it's the only place you can see certain acts and it's certainly the right atmosphere to see folks like Mr. Pardo (damn, what a fun night that was).
But anyway... that's all just a rambling way of saying Hannibal and Matt Braunger are coming soon

(and you can go see both free on Tuesdays if you live or work in the "good neighboor" zip codes of 60610, 60611, or 60614... maybe I'm a cheap ass, but that deal got me in the door the first time, so I guess it works).
