Thread: Open mics?

    Open mics?

I'm going to be visiting Seattle for PAX/Bumbershoot and was wondering if there were any open mics going on Thursday (9/3) or Friday (9/4)?

I can never remember if the Owl & Thistle on Thursday is a booked show or not.

Giggles, in the U-District, has an open mic on Thursday--but the club isn't terribly friendly to comics visiting from out of town looking for stage time. (They like to reward comics who commit to going to that club on a regular basis.) If you make contact with one of the comics that calls Giggles home, your mileage may vary...

There may also be some less than formal shows at some of the clubs or in the alt-comedy scene...but those aren't really "open" mics--you either have to know someone or do something that's known.

pg--It's not like you'll be bored and needing things to do in Seattle...especially during B'shoot!--seattle

I think there is a new open mic on Thursdays at 88 keys, a piano bar in Pioneer Square. I cannot speak for the quality of the show as I have never gone.
