Oh man, I totally got to live out my comedy nerd dreams last night as a contestant on RYT. Even though I lost by - I think this is right - several million points, I had a total blast. I have never done anything like that before, but Jimmy was gentle and it was a very fun time. (Matt's Barry White-influenced score-announcing was also a highlight.)
Ok, now I know what you look like Graphic designer for a gay porn company???

I was a little bit in front of you in line for the Doug Benson Interruption, and yes, that did suck that they made us leave the theater and get back in line for the second show.
I had to bail on the second Game Show Explosion show, but it sounds like everybody got really drunk (Doug joked about that the following night at the DBI to Scott: "Gee, that Game Show Explosion show seemed really short for some reason!")

I don't have any exciting celebrity sightings to report, I guess I must have missed Robin Williams. I did see Josie Long in the audience at the Running Your Trap show, I guess that's the most exciting non-show related person that I saw (not that she's that well known in the US, but I've seen her on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and other shows like that). I got to meet Matt and Jimmy too, which was nice.

So everything was great except for Conan dropping out and having to pay $32 at every show at Cobb's for drinks

Aw shoot, BillBrasky, I would've loved to have said hi to you! I have so few posts here that I just assume nobody knows who I am. Yeah, the gay porn gig was probably the coolest job I will ever have. Let's just say there was LOTS of Photoshop involved.

I know what you mean about the two drink minimums. I realize that's where the clubs make most of their money, but I was so glad when I looked at our tickets for Sunday night and saw that both shows were at the Eureka. Whew.

I heard you were there and was very close to just yelling out your screen name before the Benson interruption.

Haha...I don't know how well that would have worked in the theater, but if someone had done that while I was waiting in line, I probably would have responded. I kept hoping I would sit next to someone who would start talking about AST, but everyone I ended up sitting next to appeared to not know much about the show they were about to see ("Now which show is this again?")

I went to CDR, The PFT Show, NNF, CDR Radio/ILM, Reginald "Reggie" Watts, Game Show Explosion, RYT, and The Benson Interruption and had a blast at each and every event.

Oh man, what a fun time that was! Living in Sacramento, we went two nights, driving home and back again for the second night. Seeing my favorite comedians was such a treat, and briefly meeting the NNF crew was awesome too. They all seemed like real gentlemen. Can't wait until next year!

Just to be clear for next year (if they even ask drunky back), which do you prefer, paying $30 to get in and having to buy two drinks, or having to leave the theater between shows only to end up with pretty good seats anyway because it's only a 200 seat theater?

(i think i already know the asnwer)

    Theater, please, Drunky!

    (sorry for all the complaining)

    Re: General Sketchfest Thread

Yeah the theater was a good call. The staff could always push the line back to put the ticketholders who were in the previous show in the front.

    Re: General Sketchfest Thread

push the line back? yeah, that would be easy.

if you think there are bad seats in that theater, you need glasses. or a stalking license.

also, you don't always get that situation unless the shows or one of the shows is sold out. but 9 years into a successful festival is not when you go 'hey let's make changes to what has worked to little or no complaint year after year'

Just checked the schedule and Kyle Kinane has been replaced by Conor Kellicutt for the Thursday night Matt Braunger show.
