Thread: General Sketchfest Thread

    Re: General Sketchfest Thread

Some changes and additions to the SF Sketchfest schedule:

--Neil Patrick Harris has regretfully had to cancel his appearance at SF Sketchfest due to a previously unforeseen engagement out of the country that cannot be rescheduled. Says Harris:

"I'm so terribly disappointed to be missing SF Sketchfest this year, and I did everything in my power to avoid having to withdraw. I'm a huge fan of the festival, and I love the Bay Area, so needless to say, I can't wait to come back... assuming San Francisco will still have me! Meanwhile, I managed to wrangle Super A-List Movie Star and Sometimes Nudist Jason Segel to join the show in my stead. He's great. And single. So if you play your cards right, you may just get invited to the 'after party', if you know what I mean..."

Jason Segel will indeed be stepping in for both Celebrity Autobiography shows, and will also be joining the cast of Greg Behrendt's Bring the Rock on Saturday, January 30th at 10:30pm.

--Kyle Kinane has a shooting conflict on Thursday, January 28th, and will be replaced by Conor Kellicut that night only. He will still be on both shows Friday and Saturday at the Punchline.

--Thomas Lennon has been added to the Sunday Comics show on Sunday, January 24th, 9pm at Cobb's. The show features stand-up and characters from Nick Kroll, Carlos Alazraqui, Jon Dore, James Adomian and Alex Koll.

Since it's been a while, I don't remember a lot of what was going on in these photos... in any case. enjoy:

The Barrel Brothers end their set with a choreographed dance routine.

Running your Trap with Graham Elwood, Janet Varney, and Pat Francis.

    Janet Varney, sketchfest co-founder.

    Aukerman reads off some tweets.

Alex Koll, filling in for Steve Agee.

    Arj Barker

"How are we going to get this table to Largo tomorrow night?"
Graham Elwood and the rape table.

Michael Ian Black relaxes on stage.

The Shit Show was one of the most fun shows I have ever been to. I was already excited because of the awesome lineup, but the show itself exceeded my expectations by tons. All six comics were on stage the entire time, and the banter was incredibly funny. Add to that the actual genuine embarrassment that they went through when watching the clips and the fun it looked like the other performers were having making fun of them; it made for an awesome experience.

I really hope this show comes back next year and/or becomes something on the TV. It was a really cool idea with excellent execution. It also brings up the definite possibility of video of 17 year-old Tom Lennon in a Ninja Turtle suit with just his face poking out surfacing on the internet or Web Soup.

Did anyone catch the Dave Hill Explosion on Tuesday? I am so sad that I missed this, but I had to make balls for art school.

Anyone on the fence about going to Braunger/Kinane/Lynch, Kinane is selling his AS YET UNRELEASED CD at the show.

Or maybe he just sold me one because I'm so cool*

*-I am not special. He'll sell one to you if you go.

Also, Braunger is hilarious and has awesome big black giant sized CDs that he calls an 'album' for sale....

Also also, Brendan Lynch continues to be awesome.

    8pm and 10pm Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Ninth Annual SF Sketchfest! It was our biggest and best year yet--96 shows over 20 days, with one more to come! The Conan O'Brien Tribute has yet to be rescheduled, but will be soon. Look for an announcement in the days to come.

Oh, and gallery photos coming to the website soon!

When it is rescheduled, will there be new opportunities to buy tickets?

Possibly--when we announce the reschedule date, ticket holders have the opportunity to either go to the new date, or have their tickets refunded. Those refunded tickets will go back on sale at some point. I'll definitely notify the board when that happens...
