"The Larry Sanders Show" Complete Series Coming to DVD

Shout! Factory has revealed today that they have acquired the rights from Sony to release The Larry Sanders Show - The Complete Series on DVD. Shout! representatives have confirmed this with us, telling us to expect the release some time in September. Show star Garry Shandling, who participated in DVD extras for Shout! Factory's 2009 release of It's Garry Shandling's Show - The Complete Series, was reportedly pleased with the studio's efforts for that DVD collection, and it is hoped he will again be available for bonus material on the new Larry Sanders release. Thanks for posting that info tomhayes. I pre-ordered the set ($86 with tax - grrr CA grrr). I've never actually seen any of the show (not even clips to the best of my knowledge) but I'm going on my trust of the AST Seal of Approval for this.

Awhile back someone posted a similar deal from Amazon for the "It's Garry Shandling's Show". I was so tempted to get the set. Then I thought, nah - I'll Netflix it first. So I did, discovered I loved it and am now kicking myself for not taking advantage of the deal when I could. And now even the used sets (on Amazon and ebay) are more expensive than the new one would've been. Ah, regrets.

You will not regret ordering "The Larry Sanders Show"! Also, you shouldn't regret NOT ordering "It's Garry Shandling's Show". I could see where you might get that impression from watching certain episodes. But, generally speaking, the show has not aged that well. Actually, someone correct me if I'm wrong on this! The last time I remember seeing them is whenever Comedy Central used to air them. But my recollection is, "It's Garry Shandling's Show" wasn't NEARLY as consistent OR timeless as "The Larry Sanders Show".
