Thread: Parks and Rec Goes Shopping at the Handsome Store

Parks and Rec Goes Shopping at the Handsome Store

NBC's under-appreciated comedy Parks and Recreation is taking two handsome dark-haired men from their precious normal jobs on other television shows. Star of Wayne's World Rob Lowe is being stolen away from his normal gig as Robert McCallister in ABC's Brothers and Sisters, which is apparently a show. Adam Scott, best known as the complete dick of a brother Derek in StepBrothers, is presumably leaving the acclaimed Starz comedy Party Down. I assure you that Starz exists, it is a premium cable channel. Wiki it.

Both actors are rumored to start their roles late in the current season and then become regular cast members in the third season.

Maybe NBC won't be dicks like Fox was with Jane Lynch and they'll let Scott continue his Party Down gig on the side.

Somehow I don't see those pieces fitting, but I'm fine as long as they don't add Jason Gedrick. That dude kills shows dead.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Ohhhh hrmmmm I like Parks & Rec the way it is! I just hope they don't go too crazy with new characters...I still feel like the current ones have much to be explored.

That being said, Ed Helms really is key to The Office now so we'll see.

    Dear The Mayor of Television:

Please don't make Adam Scott leave Party Down. Henry was supposed to be a team leader this season.
Eyes are the losers in the skies.

Well season 2 of stars is in the can anyways... I think stars works on a different schedule aswell so hopefully he can keep both jobs.

Lynch was a supporting cast member on Party Down, so the show can go on without her, but I really don't see how it could be a show without Adam Scott; he's kind of the anchor of the show.

But like onelinedrawing said, I think Season 2 is done and is about to start soon on Starz, so he'll probably won't be working on both shows at the same time.

Like everyone else already said, Season 2 of Party Down finished shooting in November. Adam Scott has also said that he will be back for the third season, so unless there are contract issues, I expect it will be OK. I am looking forward to seeing him on Parks and Recreation, too.

That said Adam Scott is great. I think Party Down is an awesome show, but I don't know that its one that is destined to be around for that long. (edit: I guess I am wrong considering rdemint's new info)

I don't know that Parks and Rec though is a show that needs much changing, especially one that seems like it make the show feel more like a show set in Hollywood rather than one set in mid-size town in Indiana.

Unfortunately, Party Down's future is looking prety bleak according to Alan Sepinwall

If Alan Sepinwall's information is correct--and I assume it is--I don't see Party Down living beyond the second season. Unless, of course, they can find some hot young talent to fill the Adam Scott vacancy. (Highly doubtful.)

Also, in case anyone wants to check the show out and isn't aware, Netflix offers it as a part of their "Watch It Now" streaming service.
