"Wild Girls Gone" available for download on iTunes

In 2003, the Upright Citizens Brigade filmed their first full-length improvised movie, "Wild Girls Gone". After several years of being unreleased, the long-awaited film is now available for digital download on iTunes.

The movie takes place in the spring break capital of White Sands, Florida. Sheriff Terry Moran (Matt Walsh) outlaws the town's world famous Ass Contests in a bid to win the elderly votes in his campaign for mayor - even though he is married to the town's former Ass Contest Queen, Doreen (Amy Poehler). Unhappy with how her husband and her town is changing, Doreen breaks out of her bored drunk housewife existence to recapture her youth and sabotage her husband's campaign. Meanwhile, Stevie (Ian Roberts), a video store clerk and aspiring documentary filmmaker, gets goaded into making a movie about spring break by his scheming stoner friend Ray (Matt Besser). But Stevie's lofty ambitions for a documentary about human behavior are constantly derailed by Ray's offensive behavior, shady connections and criminal acts.

So many times through the years I have said "yes, it's coming out in a couple of months" but then something would set us back where we had to fill out one more form, or assassinate one more SAG rep. But NOW I can finally say without lying that Wild Girls Gone is released, and is available on iTunes. The UCB4 are in it and a lot of other comedians from the UCB theater. It's improvised and most of it is guerilla style which accounts for the years of delay. Watch it for comedy, or watch it for hairy asses.

Did anyone see this yet? Somehow I forgot all about this, but I'm hoping to buy it within the next couple of days.

I was also looking at the movie's website and noticed under Besser's bio that he's currently developing a sketch show pilot for Comedy Central! um... yay! Does anyone (not sure if Matt himself can say anything yet) know anymore details about this? Either way, I'm just excited for the possibility of anything new on tv with Matt Besser!

I actually just went to a taping of this a few days ago. It's called "This Show Will Get You High." It was about an hour and a half sketch show that seemed like they would boil it down to a normal 22 min program. It definitely had its moments, but Besser is carrying the whole troop he's gotten together for it...
