The newspaper headlnes tell it all. This from the April 26 issue of the Los Angeles Times front page of the Business Section:
"New fight looming over TV violence...An FCC study finds that children are still being exposed to gore."
And this from the December 1, 2006 Wall Street Journal Weekend Journal:

Hi, everyone! FPD here. You know we like to have fun on AST. So I'm doing my first post on something I think is really fun. One of my favorite rap groups, Onyx.
For you comedy nerds, you may remember an episode of the Jimmy Pardo Podcast where they talked about bands named Onyx (or Onyxx, Onyxxx, ect. ect.). They got alot of information wrong but I'm here to set it straight.
Onyx is a hardcore rap band from Queens. In the 90's they had a popular song called "Slam!".
