Jim Gaffigan is currently on "The Sexy Tour" leading up to the taping of his next Comedy Central special in Austin in early December. Before that, however, he has shows in San Francisco and at the Wiltern in Los Angeles next weekend, Nov 7 & 8. In November he's doing 12 shows in a span of 11 days in Boston and New York (check Jim's Tour Schedule for details).
Almost two years ago, Jim met with isoS/Matt for an episode of AST Radio that covered his Midwestern upbringing, his formative years in standup and the benefits and difficulties of being part of such a rich, burgeoning comedy scene in early-'90s New York City. Earlier this week, I spoke with Jim on the phone to further examine his comedic process, his unrelenting performance schedule, making the leap from comedy clubs to performing in theaters and much more.

 The revamped version of "Best Week Ever" begins tonight at 11 PM on VH1. Hosted and co-executive produced by Paul F. Tompkins, the new version of the popular show has been revamped and most of the airtime will go to the new host, but former regulars will still be featured. Don't forget to tune in!

» Season 2 of The Sarah Silverman Program Resumes Tonight |

 The second half of season two of The Sarah Silverman Program begins tonight at 10:30 PM on Comedy Central with an episode entitled "High, It's Sarah." A second premiere episode will air tomorrow night, Thursday October 9th, at 10:30 PM, with the rest of the season airing in that timeslot. The first half of the second season will be available on DVD on October 14th, and it features over one-hour of bonus material including the cast and creators at 2007's Comic-Con, animated webisodes, behind-the-scenes and audio commentary with the entire cast.

Randy and Jason Sklar ("Cheap Seats") have returned to the sports world in a new web series for Topps called "Back on Topps." Described as "The Office" meets the "This is SportsCenter" campaign, the series follows twin heirs to the Topps fortune Leyland and Leif Topps, who are forced to work their way from the bottom up in their own family's company after their Uncle Marvin sells Topps to Michael Eisner (a premise based loosely on reality: Eisner did, in fact, buy Topps). Look for appearances by AST faves like Matt Walsh, Jason Nash, Ed Helms, Janet Varney and Eddie Pepitone to name a few, as well as sports figures like Baron Davis, Dennis Rodman, David Ortiz and Johnny Damon.
"Back On Topps" is playing now on foxsports.com.

 Louis C.K. appears at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano tonight, followed by a show at the new Largo at the Coronet on Sunday. It’s all part of a new tour working toward his next special, “Louis C.K. Hilarious.”
His last tour resulted in “Chewed Up,” an hour special premiering on Showtime on Saturday, October 4 at 11:00 pm.
Prior to his arrival in Southern California, I was able to conduct an email interview with him about his dedication to creating new material, his maturation as a comic and much more.

 AST favorite Paul F. Tompkins will be hosting and co-executive producing a new version of "Best Week Ever" on VH1, set to debut on October 24th. He will serve as the host and anchor of the show and provide most of the commentary, but fans of the current version needn't worry - the longtime regulars will rotate in and out with their own produced segments. Paul has this to say: "I am going to make the most of this opportunity. We're going to try our best to make a good show. It's a good team. And I think if the show wasn't exactly your thing before, you might want to give it a second chance in this incarnation. It will be a more controlled, written show-- since less time will be taken up combing through a couple dozen interview tapes looking for the best jokes from a dozen people, that's more time to write the best jokes and have me and a couple other people deliver them. I hope people tune in and enjoy the show!"
